We’re looking for a proactive and people-centred HR Advisor to join our friendly and forward-thinking HR team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys combining strategic thinking with hands-on impact, helping to shape and modernise our HR policies while providing expert advice and support on all aspects of the employee life-cycle.
In this role, you’ll play a key part in ensuring our policies reflect best practice, fairness, and inclusion, while empowering managers to bring out the best in their teams.

What You’Ll Be Doing
Policy Review and Development- Lead the review, development, and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
- Ensure all HR policies reflect current employment legislation, FE sector standards, and best practice.
- Promote consistency and fairness in HR policy application across the College.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders, including trade unions and managers, to ensure policies are practical and inclusive.
- Provide expert advice and guidance to managers on a range of employee relations matters.
- Support the consistent and fair application of college policies and procedures in ER cases.
- Promote a positive and collaborative employee relations climate across all departments.
- Identify and address trends in ER activity to support early intervention and continuous improvement.
- Support and coach managers in managing performance and capability effectively.
- Contribute to the development of performance frameworks and related guidance materials.
- Promote constructive approaches to performance management that align with the College’s values
- Contribute to the delivery of HR projects and initiatives aligned with the HR Strategy.
- Provide accurate HR advice, reports, and data analysis.
- Work collaboratively with the wider HR team to ensure efficient service delivery
- Maintain strong professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
What We’Re Looking For
- CIPD Level 5 qualification
- GCSE (Grade C or above) in Maths and English
- Experience of working within a HR function at HR Advisor Level
- Experience of providing advice, guidance and support to resolve queries in an effective, timely, customer focused manner.
- Knowledge of the HR life cycle, and how it can be supported by the advisor role.
- Experience of building excellent relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience of working within Further Education Sector
- Experience of reviewing and developing HR Policies & Procedures
