Make an impact with our ease Cloud Accounting Services team as a Senior Bookkeeper. Responsibilities
- Manage Full Cycle Bookkeeping: Administer comprehensive bookkeeping services for MNP clients, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in a fast-paced setting.
- Payroll & Government Filings: Prepare and maintain payroll, handle government remittances/filings, and record transactions including sales, accounts receivable, expenses, accounts payable, payroll, and Workers’ Compensation Board (WCB) transactions.
- Tax Preparation: Prepare T4s and Records of Employment with precision.
- Mentorship: Provide support and training to junior bookkeeping team members, fostering their growth and development.
- Month-End & Quarter-End Close: Perform thorough month-end and quarter-end close processes.
- Account Reconciliation: Maintain, monitor, and reconcile GL accounts, including cash, bank reconciliations, prepaid expenses, accounts receivable, accounts payable, accrued liabilities, intercompany transactions, and point of sale (POS)/system uploads.
- Problem Solving: Identify issues and errors, investigate discrepancies, and collaborate with supervisors or engagement partners to develop effective resolutions.
- Budget Monitoring: Keep track of work in progress and file budgets, identifying out-of-scope opportunities.
- Government Communication: Communicate with government entities regarding information requests, assessments, and installments.
- Client Liaison: Liaise with clients on administrative matters and provide functional advice to team members.
- Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively and build strong relationships with clients and team members.
Skills And Experience
- Educational Background: Certificate or diploma in business administration or accounting is considered an asset.
- Bookkeeping Expertise: Minimum of 3 years of full cycle bookkeeping experience.
- Cloud Accounting Proficiency: Experience working with cloud accounting software such as QBO or Xero is preferred.
- Tax Preparation Skills: Proven experience preparing T4s and ROEs.
- Accounting Knowledge: Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and processes.
- Software Savvy: Experience with desktop software such as QuickBooks Desktop, Dext and Sage 50 is beneficial.
