Job Description:

We approach problems with creativity and innovation. The Boise, Idaho office is seeking a temporary full-time intern with a Civil Engineering background to support our growing business. Our office is a high-performance engineering design shop with capabilities spanning every aspect of the project lifecycle including preparation of proposals, initial site investigations, preliminary design, final engineering design, and construction management. The emphasis for this position is broadening the intern’s practical knowledge and experience by applying professional principles to real problems under the supervision of senior engineering personnel. We aim to provide valuable mentorship to our interns with local, in-office support from staff at all levels and exposure to client interactions, field work, and networking events. The full-time position is expected to be held from May through August of 2026.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work with project teams on civil, geotechnical, geological, or mining engineering projects that involve CAD design, construction oversight, field work, data evaluation, engineering analysis and report preparation.
  • Assist in planning and performing geotechnical investigations and analyses
  • Assist in preparation of proposals, reports, plans, and specifications.
  • Conduct field assignments, such as site mapping, logging soil borings and/or rock core, and assisting in field inspections.
  • Observe construction and perform materials testing

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Current enrollment in an ABET-accredited Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Bachelor’s or Master’s program is preferred. 
  • Prior professional work or summer intern work in a related field is desirable but not required
  • Possess good oral and written communication skills and computer literacy
  • Ability to work with direction as part of a team
  • Willingness to perform a variety of tasks including office and field work
  • Desire and willingness to work outdoors at undeveloped sites and construction sites
  • Ability to routinely lift up to 50 pounds

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Junior, senior, and graduate students
  • Prior professional work or summer intern work in a related field 

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to pass a background check which may include criminal history, motor vehicle record and credit check
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening 

The compensation range for a Civil Engineering Intern is between $18.00 to $25.00. Compensation for this position may vary based on geographic location and other factors. We remain committed to providing competitive and equitable compensation to all employees, regardless of their location.
