We are hiring a Sr. Staff Technical Program Manager to play a pivotal role in driving the execution of strategic programs and projects. You will track projects which cut across multiple products and services, and run operational programs around key areas such as customer health and service health. Additionally, you will identify opportunities for automation and scalability of process, and take ownership of implementing these solutions. This position is primarily aligned to our Federal, Sovereign, and Platform Engineering Clouds within R&D, which are horizontal lines of business that cut across all products and services at Zscaler. This role will function within the Zero Trust Exchange (ZTE) Engineering PMO organization while maintaining a dotted line relationship to the Federal team and the Director, Strategy and Operations. This role is onsite in San Jose, CA or Bellevue, WA three times a week. Providing collaborative support and strategic input, you will be responsible for:
- Program Leadership: Managing cross-functional technical programs spanning multiple products and teams; leading the execution and alignment of engineering initiatives within Federal, Sovereign, and Platform Clouds
- Service Health and Customer Health Management: Reporting and managing Service Level Objective (SLO) within engineering teams and collaborating with stakeholders to address deviations and drive repairs/improvements; advancing and structuring customer health and service health rhythms within the division to include facilitating existing rhythms and scaling them
- Project Execution: Developing and enhancing project execution workflows for Federal Cloud and identifying/resolving blockers to expedite priority initiatives; acting as the go-to leader for critical challenges, driving impactful outcomes beyond status updates
- Operational Optimization: Maintaining dashboards and reports, including the use of Jira Query Language (JQL) to modify/build reports and dashboards; collaborating with stakeholders to mature processes and streamline operations promoting visibility through data analytics and reporting
- Cross-Organizational Collaboration: Partnering with product and engineering teams to align technical programs with business objectives; facilitating effective communication across diverse teams and leaders, ensuring goals are met
What We’re Looking for (Minimum Qualifications)
- 8+ years in technical environments (Technical Program Management, Engineering Management, or similar)
- 3+ years managing large-scale, complex software development programs with significant cross-department impact and cross-organizational dependencies
- Strong program leadership skills, process optimization expertise, and advanced data analysis capabilities; demonstrated ability to drive organizational alignment and influence multiple teams and stakeholders without direct authority
- Proficiency with Jira, including JQL for building, modifying, and maintaining dashboards and reports; background in project execution within software development lifecycles (SDLC)
- U.S. citizenship and a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or equivalent practical experience
What Will Make You Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
- Past experience in Federal or Sovereign lines of business and/or the ability to procure a security clearance
- Experience with Incident Management and/or Customer Support Cases within SaaS companies
- Tableau knowledge, certifications in program or project management (e.g., PMP, CSM), and/or familiarity with Agile methodologies

The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations and could be higher or lower based on a multitude of factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
The base salary range listed for this full-time position excludes commission/ bonus/ equity (if applicable) + benefits.
