We're looking for a meticulous and data-driven Cost and Pricing Analyst to join our team for 6-month contract! In this critical role, you will dive deep into the financial and operational data of our junk removal business. Your insights will be the foundation for our pricing strategies, ensuring we remain competitive while maximizing profitability. 🏢 Hybrid Work Environment
Vancouver-Based And Toronto-Based Team Members Work In-Office Every Other Week (Tues–Thurs). Core Attendance Is Required From 9 Am – 3 Pm On These Days To Support Business Priorities.
đź’Ľ A DAY IN THE LIFE
- Profitability Analysis: Analyze the profit margin on a per-job, per-service, and per-customer basis to identify our most and least profitable activities.
- Cost Accounting: Conduct detailed cost analysis using Profit & Loss statements, receipts, and operational logs to determine the true cost of service. This includes direct and indirect costs like labor, fuel, vehicle maintenance, disposal fees, insurance, and marketing.
- Pricing Strategy: Develop, model, and recommend new pricing structures and levels based on your cost and profitability analysis. This includes creating pricing tiers for different types of jobs (e.g., residential, commercial, construction debris).
- Value Based Pricing: pair data insights derived from willingness to pay research with franchise cost data to make local pricing recommendations.
- Reporting: Create and maintain reports that provide management with clear insights into cost trends, profitability metrics, and the impact of pricing changes.
- Collaboration: Work closely with finance and operations to understand operational constraints and opportunities.
🎯 WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in a financial analysis, cost accounting, or a similar analytical role.
- Expert proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets is a must (e.g., pivot tables, advanced formulas, financial modeling).
- Proficiency in SQL is an asset, with demonstrated experience writing queries to extract and manipulate data from relational databases.
- Experience with accounting software (like QuickBooks, Xero) is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving skills, and an exceptional eye for detail.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.

- Salary Range: $37 – $44 per hour
- (Actual salary offered will be commensurate with education, experience, and internal equity.)
