We are currently looking for a Customs Expert to join our Global Supply Chain team in Berlin, Bath, or Lyon. This critical role ensures smooth and compliant international movement of goods by managing customs regulations, trade compliance, and documentation.

What You Will Do

• Stay current with global customs regulations, trade laws, and compliance standards.
• Provide expert customs guidance to internal teams across procurement, transportation, and sales.
• Collaborate with customs brokers and freight forwarders to ensure timely and accurate clearance.
• Classify products according to HS codes and maintain up-to-date knowledge of tariffs, duties, and taxes.
• Prepare and process customs declarations, certificates of origin, and shipping documentation.
• Coordinate customs compliance across different transportation modes (air, sea, road, parcel).
• Conduct internal audits and implement corrective actions to address compliance risks.
• Organise and maintain customs-related documentation for audits and reporting.
• Resolve customs issues (e.g., delays, inspections, disputes) in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
• Monitor and advise on regulatory changes that affect global import/export operations.

What You Should Bring

• 5+ years of experience in customs regulations, international trade, and compliance, ideally within a retail or logistics environment.
• Degree in International Trade, Supply Chain, Customs Administration, or related field, or equivalent professional certifications.
• Deep knowledge of customs laws, HS classification, dangerous goods, and trade agreements.
• Analytical skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to engage non-expert stakeholders.
• Proficiency with customs declaration tools and compliance software.
• Ability to manage priorities and resolve customs-related challenges independently.
• High integrity and commitment to compliance, with a proactive and adaptable mindset.
