Mechanical Engineer Intern
- Position Description -

Our team has decades of automation experience, spanning hundreds of projects and thousands of automation configurations.
Position Title: Mechanical Engineer Intern
Position Overview: The Mechanical Engineering Intern learns and applies foundational automation skills while supporting internal and customer projects under close supervision. The intern works closely with other interns and the Mechanical Engineering team to conceptualize and design basic automation projects while building good engineering habits in safety, standards and communication.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in CAD modeling and drawing revisions
- Support engineers in documentation and data entry for design projects
- Conduct research on materials, components, and industry standards
- Perform simple calculations and analysis under supervision
- Participate in team meetings, design reviews and project discussions
- Observe and document manufacturing and assembly processes
- Assist with testing and validation of mechanical components
- Learn and follow safety procedures and company policies
- Shadow junior and senior engineers to understand project workflows
- Prepare reports and presentations summarizing work progress
- Learn and practice our Operating Principles daily; asks for feedback, shows timeliness, accountability and safe execution on small tasks
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in, or recently graduated from a university program in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Good interpersonal skills
- Strong work ethic coupled with intellectual curiosity for how machines work
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Desire to be hands-on with machinery
- Clear, timely communicator with project teams and other interns; asks clarifying questions early
- Collaborative, coachable, and respectful; supports peers during busy phases and shares what they learn
- Experience with 3D CAD software, Solidworks preferred
