CORA's Good Shepherd Mediation division is seeking a Full-time Program Assistant for the Eviction Diversion Program (EDP) which provides an opportunity for landlords and tenants to resolve disputes without going to court. The Program Assistant position will work primarily with EDP Landlord Liaison staff to assist unrepresented landlords with the complex Eviction Diversion process. This role will also support operations of the program.

In addition, the successful candidate will obtain working knowledge of all aspects of the program. There is an opportunity for the successful candidate to mediate, if trained, or to attend training and then mediate.

Hours And Location:

This is a part-time position requiring approximately 25 hours per week, which will be spread throughout the work week (Monday - Friday) during regular business hours: 9 AM to 5 PM. The location will be at a Center City office to facilitate assisting landlords in person. Some work-from-home hours are possible. In addition, there are occasional mandatory meetings at CORA’s main building in the Fox Chase neighborhood of Philadelphia. 

Pay Rate:

$19.50/hr. with HS diploma + 3 years experience

$20.64/hr. with BA degree + 3 years.

In addition, as a Program Assistant - EDP at CORA your duties will include: 

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and respond to phone calls and emails about EDP; direct program participants to other staff or program partners as needed.
  • Assist landlords, in person and/or remotely, with the EDP process, from application through program completion. This might include: explaining the program to landlords, helping them apply, and troubleshooting any problems they might experience with the online portal or other aspects of the program.
  • Enter data into various databases, web portals, and spreadsheets.
  • Update and maintain records, forms, and templates, as needed.
  • Carry out other program-related tasks such as reviewing applications, scheduling mediations, assigning mediators, mediating cases (if/when trained), distributing and filing mediated agreements, coding and closing cases, etc.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience with client service, administrative, and/or receptionist work.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with Microsoft Bookings strongly preferred.
  • Ability to quickly and proficiently adapt to new software and technology
  • Experience with data entry and recordkeeping; exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal, written and conversational skills.
  • Ability to thrive in culture of change while managing a high-volume caseload.
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships with colleagues, participants, and program partners at multiple diverse organizations.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of landlord-tenant issues in Philadelphia and/or EDP preferred.
