Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Controls Engineering Lead – Integration to oversee the design, development, and implementation of integrated control systems across complex projects. This role will lead cross-functional efforts to ensure seamless integration between mechanical, electrical, IT, and automation systems. The ideal candidate has a strong background in building automation, SCADA/BMS integration, industrial controls, and data center or mission-critical infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead controls system integration across multiple disciplines, including HVAC, electrical, fire protection, and security systems.
  • Design and oversee implementation of integrated Building Management Systems (BMS), SCADA, PLC, and/or DDC systems.
  • Coordinate with MEP engineers, construction teams, vendors, and commissioning agents to ensure system functionality and interoperability.
  • Develop and review control logic diagrams, sequence of operations, communication protocols, and network topologies.
  • Oversee factory and site acceptance testing (FAT/SAT) of controls systems.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, client specifications, and cybersecurity requirements.
  • Act as technical authority on integration architecture, system protocols (BACnet, Modbus, SNMP, etc.), and automation design.
  • Support startup, commissioning, and turnover activities for integrated systems.
  • Troubleshoot integration issues across platforms, ensuring real-time data exchange, alarm management, and trend logging are functional and optimized.
  • Develop and maintain controls integration documentation, such as IO lists, integration maps, network diagrams, and test plans.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in controls engineering, with a focus on system integration and automation.
  • Strong technical background in PLC programming (e.g., Rockwell, Siemens), BMS platforms (e.g., Tridium, Johnson Controls, Schneider), and SCADA systems.
  • Expertise in communication protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, OPC, MQTT, SNMP, and Ethernet/IP.
  • Experience in integrating systems in data centers, industrial facilities, or large commercial buildings.
  • Strong project management, communication, and cross-discipline coordination skills.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices in operational technology (OT) environments.
