Job Description
Primary Function of Position
The Senior Tax Analyst will be a key member of Intuitive's global tax operations team, assisting in the global tax provision and tax compliance functions, as well as supporting the transformation of the tax function to scale for growth, which includes tax technology adoption, process simplification and standardization, and effective use of data and technology.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Support the US federal tax compliance function which includes preparation of the federal income tax return, extensions and payments, return forms review
- Support the worldwide tax provision function which includes preparation of book to tax differences, related supporting workpapers, tax account reconciliations, return to provision adjustments, etc.
- Responsible for the calculation of book to tax differences as well as maintenance of related deferred tax balances of stock-based compensation (NQSOs, RSUs, ESPP, etc.
- Responsible for the calculation and maintenance of book-to-tax differences of fixed assets and intangible assets and related reconciliations for quarterly and annual provision and tax return purposes.
- Assist in monthly, quarterly and annual close procedures including, limited to, recording of tax accruals and other tax-related journal entries using SAP
- Perform tax-related accounting procedures including, but not limited to, analysis of new GL accounts and cost centers
- Work closely with FP&A, accounting and other finance stakeholders to accumulate and reconcile data required for preparation of corporate income tax provision and returns.
- Maintain process documentation and adhere to controls and procedures.
- Evaluate existing processes and suggest process improvements.
- Conduct basic tax and ASC 740 research and produce related documentation.
- Assist with any other special projects, as necessary.
Qualifications
Required Skills and Experience
- 3-4 years of experience working on corporate tax returns and tax provision.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong project management and collaboration skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a learning mindset.
- Advanced Excel skills, including complex formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis tools; experience working with large and dynamic data sets.
- Proficient in other MS Office applications such as Word and PowerPoint.
- This role requires working onsite in our Sunnyvale, CA office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday every week
Required Education and Training
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, tax or related field
Preferred Qualifications
- Big 4 experience preferred
- Alteryx, Tableau experience, a plus
