Project Finance Manager

Second Foundation is a global energy trading company with around 400 employees across locations in Prague HQ (CZ), Zug (CH), Mainz (DE), Berlin (DE), Charlotte (USA), and Tokyo (JP). We specialize in integrating and optimizing the marketing of renewable energy and battery storage systems in power markets, and have been actively expanding our own asset base, with a primary focus on battery storage. 

We are looking for someone detail-oriented and proactive to support our asset management activities, primarily in relation to Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) across various countries. This role will act as the financial backbone for our asset portfolio — ensuring invoices are validated, budgets are controlled, and cashflow is forecasted accurately. You will work closely with project execution teams to ensure financial integrity and with the treasury team to manage timely payments and optimize liquidity across our projects.  

What would you work on? 

• Drive financial reporting for BESS, including preparation of internal reports and summaries for management. 
• Maintain oversight of cash flow and ensure accurate forecasts across all projects. 
• Collaborate with execution teams internationally to review and monitor contracts, invoices, and related documentation. 
• Help ensure compliance with internal controls and processes across multiple countries. 
• Assist in budgeting, financial planning, and performance tracking of the assets. 
• Identify and help resolve discrepancies or irregularities in financial data and documentation. 
• Support continuous improvement of financial processes and reporting tools.  

What makes you a great candidate? 

• Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. 
• 3+ years of experience in financial controlling, accounting, or financial analysis. 
• Experience in infrastructure, energy, or asset management sectors. 
• Expertise in construction finance and EPC project cost management. 
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills. 
• Fluent in English and Czech; other languages are an advantage.
