  • LTD, Group Life, AD&D, Health and Dental after 3 month probation 

Eligible to enroll in the YMCA of Niagara pension plan after 1 year of service

  • Full time - 40 hours per week
  • Occasional early mornings, evening & weekend hours.

Nature & Scope

The Program Coordinator – is responsible for the planning and development of all child and youth programs. The coordinator will work with internal and external partners to ensure the growth and retention of membership and program delivery service excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Role models commitment and service excellence through the direct delivery of quality Programs; including drop in, recreational, skill based, Child Minding and other initiatives serving children and youth.
  • Develop and sustain good member, volunteer, staff, and partner relations daily.
  • Plan and manage departmental budget(s).
  • Human resource management of the staff/volunteer team (recruitment/selection, training, coaching, performance management, recognition).
  • Demonstrates an appreciation and desire to generously serve all by planning and ensuring delivery of programs and services that meet member needs and YMCA standards.
  • Work as a member of the senior staff team to support branch operations and association initiatives.
  • Understand and support YMCA philanthropic initiatives.
  • Transition to a leadership role in YMCA Day Camp during school breaks and the summer months.
  • Work as a member of the senior staff team to support branch operations and association initiatives.
  • Monitor commitment to service excellence by role modelling and maintaining Y WAY standards.
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Post secondary diploma or degree in Recreation, Children’s Studies, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years related work experience.
  • Minimum 3 years staff/volunteer supervisory experience.
  • Current Standard First Aid, CPR[C] with AED certifications.
  • Upon hiring, a clear and satisfactory criminal record check inclusive of the vulnerable sector search (PVSC) issued for the YMCA of Niagara.
