POSITION SUMMARY:The Job Developer Specialist is a key member of the Economic Empowerment team, responsible for supporting newly arrived refugees, immigrants, and other vulnerable populations on their path to self-sufficiency through employment. This role focuses on building and maintaining employer partnerships, identifying job and training opportunities, and guiding clients through all stages of the job search, placement, and retention process. The Job Developer acts as a liaison between clients, employers, and internal teams to ensure successful employment outcomes and long-term retention.

The Job Developer acts as a liaison between clients, employers, and internal teams to ensure successful employment outcomes and long-term retention.

Role & Responsibilities:
- Conduct quarterly labor market research and maintain current knowledge of employment trends, in-demand industries, and local hiring needs.
- Build and sustain relationships with employers through regular in-person meetings, outreach presentations, and community networking.
- Educate employers on the benefits of hiring refugees and immigrants, including available support services, cultural awareness, and retention strategies.
- Collaborate with employers to create on-site training, apprenticeships, or skills development opportunities for clients.
- Coordinate and participate in job fairs with internal staff and external partners to expand employment opportunities.
- Partner with businesses and workforce agencies to identify and reduce barriers to refugee/immigrant employment and workplace integration.
- Develop and maintain an internal job board with details on industries, job openings, requirements, and opportunities for advancement.
- As needed, serve as the primary point of contact for employers during recruitment, interviews, onboarding, and retention, mediating issues as they arise.
- Collaborate with Employment Specialists to assess client skills, transferable experience, employment goals, and readiness.
- Match job opportunities to client abilities and aspirations while ensuring alignment with funder requirements and program guidelines.
- Conduct regular post-placement follow-ups, including 90-day retention check-ins with employers, to monitor job stability and support long-term success.
- Provide ongoing education to employers regarding refugee workforce strengths and strategies to improve performance and retention.
- Connect clients with vocational training, apprenticeships, and continuing education opportunities that support long-term career development.
- Ensure that new employment leads and training opportunities are communicated to staff during bi-weekly team meetings.
- Lead and coordinate the weekly Job Board Meeting with the Economic Empowerment team.
- Share job leads, employer updates, and training opportunities with staff to align with client service plans.
- Collaborate with local organizations, workforce boards, community colleges, chambers of commerce, and faith-based groups to promote refugee hiring and training.
- Attend stakeholder meetings, committees, and networking events to expand partnerships and represent the program in the community.
- Maintain accurate and timely records of client interactions, employer engagement, job leads, placements, retention outcomes, and follow-ups in required databases.
- Update the internal Job Board regularly by adding new opportunities and removing closed positions.
- Track and submit reports and statistics related to refugee employment services and program activities, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and funder guidelines.
- Verify client eligibility and work authorization documentation in accordance with program and legal requirements.
Job Requirements:
- Mature and personal Christian faith
- Committed to the mission, vision, and values of World Relief
- Desire to serve and empower the Church to impact vulnerable communities
- Able to affirm and/or acknowledge World Reliefs Core Beliefs, Statement of Faith, Christian Identity and National Association of Evangelicals' For the Health of The Nation document
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, business, or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
- 2-4 years of demonstrated experience in job development, workforce development, or a related field
- Knowledge of local labor market trends, hiring practices, and workforce development resources community outreach
- Strong interpersonal communication skills, ability to assess client needs, proficiency in data management and reporting.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications, with accuracy in data entry.
- Ability to travel locally for employer outreach and client appointments
- Valid driver’s license and access to personal transportation required

- Cultural sensitivity and adaptability when working with clients from diverse backgrounds
- Bilingual or multilingual ability (preferred), particularly in languages spoken by refugee communities
