AMT is growing and is seeking a highly motivated Hydraulic / Roadway Drainage Engineer, with 5+ years of relevant experience, to join our growing team of design professionals in our Raleigh, NC office. The right candidate would lead water resources engineering tasks for transportation-related projects for NCDOT and North Carolina localities. Typical design tasks include stormwater management, storm drainage systems, culverts, open channels, bridge hydraulics and other water resource engineering tasks. Responsibilities
- Completion of calculations, reports and plans in support of transportation projects including stormwater management, storm drainage systems, culverts, open channels and bridge hydraulics.
- Perform Hydrologic and Hydraulic analysis and reporting.
- Obtain permit approvals from state and local agencies.
- Assist in the preparation of engineering documents (plans, reports, cost estimates and specifications) for Advertisement and Construction.
- Work in collaboration with a Transportation design team comprised of other disciplines and support staff on multi-disciplinary projects.
- Provide QA/QC review following AMT and client-based procedures.
Required Qualifications
- BS in Civil Engineering with emphasis in Water Resources.
- Minimum of 5 years of water resources related experience including plan and report production.
- Hydrology and hydraulic modeling experience (storm drainage, SWM, floodplain, bridge) with commonly used software.
- North Carolina-licensed Professional Engineer required.
- NCDOT experience highly preferred.
- CADD experience with MicroStation/OpenRoads, GeoPAK required.
- Excellent organizational, coordination and communication skills, both written and verbal.
