This role is a vital member of the team responsible for supporting the High Yield Credit Trader in the U.S. and European high yield and bank loan market.  This is a fast-paced role with the opportunity to work directly with the trader and under reputable portfolio manager, Bryan Krug, who joined Artisan Partners in 2014 to launch our first Credit strategy. The investment team is dedicated to deep fundamental credit research which serves as a foundation to the team’s high conviction investment process. This is a great opportunity for a new graduate with a passion for the capital markets.

Location: Denver, CO

Salary range: $70,000 – $90,000

Specific placement within the provided range will be determined by an individual’s geographic location as well as relevant experience and skills for the role. Base salary is only one component of our total compensation package. Associates may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, which is determined upon Firm and individual performance.

Responsibilities

The Candidate Can Expect To:

  • Assist with pre and post trade execution analysis
  • Assist with inputting trade execution details
  • Support High Yield trader with execution of fixed income securities within parameters as determined by the portfolio manager
  • Responsibility for preparing trading reports and analysis for internal review
  • Serve as liaison between trader and middle office
  • Communicate on pertinent market conditions with the portfolio manager and other analysts

Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Additionally, the ideal candidate will possess:

  • Recent undergraduate degree; preferably in finance, economics, mathematics or related field
  • Knowledge of: credit price, yield, spread and duration characteristics and relationships, securities and credit market structure; factors influencing price trends; and securities exchanges
  • Superior analytic skills and attention to detail
  • Extensive knowledge of Excel; Bloomberg knowledge preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills; the ability to work in a small, collaborative environment
  • A high level of initiative and an interest in building a top-tier investment franchise
