What You’Ll Need
- Required to be 21 years of age or older.
- High School diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate.
- Required to successfully meet all requirements, including background, for the issuance of a Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS) Guard Card.
- Maintain a Concealed Weapons permit from a law enforcement agency, if required.
- Required to possess, or obtain within 6 months of hire date, a Firearms permit from the California Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS) as required by applicable law. Please note that effective July 1, 2018, California law requires that security guards seeking to obtain the required permit must complete an assessment to determine whether they possess the appropriate judgment, restraint, and self-control to carry a firearm while on duty. This test will be administrated by PSI Services LLC (PSI), which is an independent third party authorized to administer the assessment for BSIS. The Company has no control over the independent determination by PSI and BSIS as to whether you are qualified to obtain an Firearms Permit. If you do not obtain a Firearms Permit within six months of your date of hire, you will not be able to perform the essential functions of your job and your employment with Gallo may be terminated.
- Basic MS Word skills required.
- Required to work nights, weekends and holidays as part of a rotating shift.
- Required to work overtime if necessary.
- Candidate is required to have a valid driver’s license, a safe driving record and reliable vehicle (if applicable) at the time of hire. This position will undergo a motor vehicle check (MVR) to confirm a history of safe and responsible driving. If needed, candidate must obtain the appropriate state driver’s license based on the position’s location within 30 days of hire.
- Maintain current CPR/AED and First Aid certification (Company training provided).
- Required to complete Taser Training.
- Required to climb stairs and ladders.
- Required to stand, sit, walk or drive a vehicle for a minimum of 12 consecutive hours.
- Required to frequently lift, drag or move up to 50 pounds.
- Skilled in reading and interpreting documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Skilled in writing routine reports and correspondence.
- Skilled in speaking effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
- Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may be in addition to travel requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.
- Required to be 18 years or older. This may be in addition to other age requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.
How You’ll Stand Out
- Experience with security, law enforcement, military or a degree in Criminal Justice.
- Knowledge of security systems and equipment in a business environment.
- Experience understanding and carrying out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Experience with performing duties and tasks that are standardized.
- Experience with resolving routine questions and problems, and refer more complex issues supervisor.
- Experience with working independently.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Currently possesses a Firearms permit from the California Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS) as required by applicable law.
- Currently possesses a Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS) Guard Card.

- Actual compensation paid within the range will be determined by factors such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data. - This position will be based in the location(s) specified in the job posting and requires working on-site with no telecommuting option. You will be expected to live within a commutable distance.
