The Role

We are seeking a motivated Logistics Apprentice to support both domestic and international logistics operations. This role provides hands on experience across shipping, customs compliance, documentation, and supplier coordination, helping ensure smooth and timely delivery of goods. You will work closely with our Domestic Logistics Coordinator and International Logistics Specialist, learning the end to end logistics process and building a strong foundation in global supply chain management.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist with same-day and scheduled shipping across the UK, EU, and US.
  • Support execution on shipping platforms including DHL, FedEx, and DPD.
  • Learn and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for shipping and returns.
  • Raise and track tickets, assist with escalations, and maintain accurate shipment records.
  • Help create and track shipments, returns, and cancellations on DHL, FedEx, and DPD platforms.
  • Support rate calculations and documentation for domestic shipments.
  • Assist with global freight coordination, customs compliance, and documentation.
  • Support compliance with Incoterms, international shipping regulations.
  • Aid in preparing freight documents, invoices, packing lists, and security declarations.
  • Help maintain supplier information and coordinate regional logistics needs.
  • Support international shipment tracking, claims, and communication with freight partners.
  • Provide assistance in calculating IOR & EOR, understanding transit times, packaging guidance, and country-specific restrictions.

Essential Skills

  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Willingness to learn and follow established procedures.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with office software.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline driven environment.
  • Interest in logistics, supply chain, or international trade.

Education & Qualifications

  • GCSEs or equivalent (including English and Maths) required.
