About The Role

** Please Note: The position requires an active brokerage license or the willingness to obtain one**

We are seeking a Senior Product Manager, Insurance & Financial Services to own the strategy, roadmap, and execution of Auctane’s insurance and financial services offerings. This includes products that allow customers to purchase insurance for their shipments, simplify the claims process with carriers, and unlock additional financial tools that help merchants protect revenue and reduce risk.

This individual will lead both product development and business development, ensuring these offerings are customer-centric, compliant, and revenue-driving across all Auctane brands globally.

This position is hybrid (3 days per week in office) and is located in Austin, Texas.

What will you be doing?

Product Strategy & Roadmap

  • Own the vision, strategy, and roadmap for Auctane’s customer-facing insurance and financial services offerings.
  • Define KPIs around adoption, revenue growth, claim resolution speed, and customer satisfaction.
  • Partner with Finance on forecasting and P&L management for insurance/financial service products.
  • Monitor industry trends, regulations, and competitors to identify opportunities for new products (e.g., embedded insurance, claims automation, risk products).

Product Development & Execution

  • Build and launch new products and features that help merchants buy insurance, file claims, and recover shipping losses with minimal friction.
  • Translate customer needs into requirements; prioritize and manage backlogs across multiple product teams.
  • Develop clear workflows for rate increases, claims filing, cancellations, and customer communication.
  • Maintain all product documentation, FAQs, and internal enablement materials.
  • Work closely with other Product MAnagers, Designers, and Engineering to prioritize and execute work.

Business Development & Partnerships

  • Act as primary liaison with insurance and financial services partners globally (e.g., for pricing, claims handling, escalations).
  • Evaluate and onboard potential new partners that expand merchant value (insurance providers, claims management services, financial solutions) globally.
  • Collaborate with Legal to negotiate agreements and ensure compliance with licensing and regulatory requirements.
  • Support deal desk with one-pagers, pricing models, and ROI analyses for potential partnerships.

Customer & Market Engagement

  • Conduct customer research to understand how merchants manage package risk, claims, and insurance coverage today.
  • Identify key friction points in claims resolution and work to streamline processes across carriers and providers.
  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Support to drive adoption and communicate product value clearly.
  • Act as an internal subject matter expert on shipping insurance and financial services, presenting insights to executive stakeholders and customer-facing teams.

Financial & Compliance Management

  • Manage the insurance/financial services P&L, working closely with Finance to ensure accuracy of reporting.
  • Approve and reconcile vendor invoices across product lines.
  • Maintain compliance with licensing and regulatory requirements across geographies.

What are we looking for?

  • 5–7+ years of business experience, with strong background in insurance, fintech, or logistics technology.
  • Experience building customer-facing financial or risk products that drive adoption and revenue.
  • Knowledge of insurance workflows (buying, filing claims, payouts) and shipping/fulfillment ecosystem.
  • Proven ability to negotiate with external partners and manage regulated products.
  • Strong analytical skills; comfortable managing P&L ownership and developing pricing strategies.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills; proven ability to influence executives and customer-facing teams.
