Life Unlimited. At Smith+Nephew we design and manufacture technology that takes the limits off living.

As a key player in the Finance Operations role at Smith+Nephew Finance, you will be responsible for delivering effective and efficient Order-to-Cash processes, as well as adhering to the control metrics outlined in the S+N Finance Order-to-Cash taxonomy.

What will you be doing?

  • The role focuses on managing customer payments by ensuring accurate and timely allocation, reconciliation, and application of transactions to accounts. Key responsibilities include processing write-off and offset requests, handling application reversals, downloading and reviewing bank statements against payment remittances, and managing payments through credit cards. The role also requires effective use of centralized communication channels, such as the Outlook mailbox, to obtain remittance details, and close collaboration with collectors to resolve missing information.
  • In addition, the position emphasizes compliance with established cash application policies and SOPs while supporting operational improvements. Proficiency in tools such as SAP and Getpaid is essential, alongside contributing to accurate customer statements and escalating issues to managers when necessary. Building strong partnerships with internal stakeholders—including Treasury, collections, and credit management—is key to ensuring efficient end-to-end Order-to-Cash processes and maintaining high standards of financial accuracy.

What will you need to be successful?

  • This role is based at KL GBS and is best suited for candidates with a degree in Finance, Accounting, or equivalent qualifications such as B.Com, M.Com, or MBA. While 1–2 years of experience in an international environment, particularly in Collections, Cash Application, or the Order-to-Cash (OTC) function, is preferred, fresh graduates are also encouraged to apply. Candidates with intermediate-level Excel skills, as well as experience with SAP or GetPaid, will have an added advantage. A proven record of contributing to operational improvements will also be considered an asset.
  • The ideal candidate will be proficient in English, Chinese, and Cantonese, with strong communication skills to collaborate effectively across Finance Operations and wider business teams. A customer-first mindset is key, along with the ability to analyze financial data, identify problems, and implement innovative, customer-focused solutions. Strong business acumen and understanding of the healthcare or medical devices industry will be valuable in applying technical knowledge, assessing risks, and aligning solutions with organizational goals. Travel requirements for this role are minimal, at less than 10%.
