Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.

Job Description

The SAP Basis & Security Team Lead is a strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing the architecture, performance, and security of SAP systems across the enterprise. This position drives the SAP Basis roadmap in alignment with broader IT and business strategies, ensuring seamless integration, optimal system performance, and regulatory compliance. The manager leads the administration of SAP environments including ECC, S/4HANA, and BW, while implementing robust security protocols, managing user roles, and ensuring adherence to standards such as SOX and GDPR.

In addition to technical oversight, this role involves managing cross-functional projects, mentoring a team of SAP Basis administrators, and maintaining strong vendor relationships. The manager ensures high availability through disaster recovery planning, governs change and transport processes, and delivers comprehensive documentation and reporting to senior leadership. This position is pivotal in maintaining the integrity, scalability, and resilience of the organization’s SAP landscape.

Strategy & Leadership

• Define and execute the SAP Basis roadmap aligned with IT and business strategy.
• Lead SAP-related projects including implementations, upgrades, and migrations.
• Manage vendor relationships, license compliance, and support contracts.
• Mentor and develop a high-performing SAP Basis team, setting clear goals and fostering skill development.

System Operations & Optimization

• Oversee installation, configuration, and maintenance of SAP systems (ECC, S/4HANA, BW).
• Ensure system performance, availability, scalability, and high availability through proactive monitoring and tuning.
• Manage system landscapes, transport routes, and change control processes.
• Develop and maintain backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.

Security, Compliance & Governance

• Administer user access, roles, and authorizations in accordance with security best practices.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., SOX, GDPR) through audits and internal controls.
• Maintain detailed system documentation and delivery performance and compliance reporting to senior leadership.
• Conduct regular security assessments and audits to ensure compliance.
• Monitor system performance through defined KPIs, lead root cause analysis, and implement tuning and optimization strategies.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in SAP Basis administration, with at least 3 years in a lead or team management role.
• Deep knowledge of SAP system architecture (ECC, S/4HANA, BW, Solution Manager).
• Hands-on expertise in system installations, upgrades, migrations, and cloud integrations.
• Strong skills in performance tuning, transport management, and high availability setup.
• Familiarity with regulatory compliance frameworks (SOX, GDPR, ISO 27001).
• Excellent problem-solving and leadership skills.

•  Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
