What'S The Role
Shell Global Space Planning (GSP) is the centre of excellence for space planning and category management solutions in convenience retail. Having started with just one market five years ago, GSP now supports 18 markets across the Americas, Europe, and Asia, with plans to expand both its market reach and capabilities.
What you will be doing
- Looking for an experienced Space Planner who can be a single point of contact for any category/region by mastering Process and Category knowledge.
- Manage the Range Review Cycle from its inception to its final publication in stores
- Enable and ensure more data driven space planning.
- Data Analysis: Utilize data analytical tools to monitor category performance, identify opportunities, and present insights and recommendations to the Category Management to optimise assortment across the various size of planograms and Shop Formats, analysing existing performance to ensure each shop has the optimal category space to maximise the shop profitability.
- Work closely with Category Management to deliver visually appealing versioned planograms based on store clustering, space definitions and defined flow/merchandising guidelines/CDT in accordance with agreed service level agreements (SLA).
- Work closely with Shop Format managers within markets to create and maintain shop plans and linking in the relevant planograms, Fixtures, Equipment to the store layouts.
- Work in a team environment with focus on achieving team goals vs individual goals.
- Actively learn and apply advanced level of expertise in Space Planning Tools and all other relevant applications.
- Collaborate with peers to instil best practices and enhance the team's capability to address business questions with valuable insights
- Exhibit a strong sense of responsibility when handling high-visibility requests or those with tight deadlines.
- Identify opportunities and implement corrective actions to enhance work processes.
- Create an inclusive and collaborative environment
What You Bring
- 5+ years of relevant experience in Retail domain / Category management / Merchandising / VM.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Economics, Business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA preferred
- Good experience in Space Plannings tools like JDA, Nielsen Spaceman, CAD etc.
- Good interpersonal communication skills and influencing skills
- Eagerness to learn and ability to work with limited supervision
- Familiarity with data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI
- Experience in Global Business Services (GBS) is an advantage
- Good Stakeholder Management skills
- Good analytical skills
- Good communication skills
- Competent with Excel & Word
