About The Role

Monitors and manages daily underwriting processes, new business, people and system to ensure consistency of underwriting decisions are in compliance to the company’s operation rules in achieve quality business.

Roles And Responsibilities:

  • Suggest and identify ideas to improve automation in NB underwriting process / workflow streamline, liaises with IT and Operation Business Support for system enhancement to enhance the system automation and develops sufficient validation rules in order to improve the efficiency on underwriting and minimize the manual works. Perform best underwriting practices in line with company’s underwriting guidelines, reinsurance requirements, and complied with legal & compliance measurements. (40%)
  • Assist team head to proceed all related UNI projects to meet business requirements. Handle regular system reporting and ad-hoc tasks of data analysis as assigned within timelines. Any task assigned by the Company and ad hoc projects. (20%)
  • Organizes and conducts training to staff in Underwriting, POS, Claims, Operations Service Centres, OSS in Malaysia, etc. to support development and enhance competency levels & performance. (20%)
  • Monitors and manages daily underwriting processes to streamline the work flow and conducts regular audit in order to shorten the turnaround time and improve the accuracy and consistency. (10%)
  • Underwrites/reviews large sum assured/premium amount cases and complicated cases (include appeal) within underwriting authority, conducts regular audits to ensure underwriting decision is compliance with company’s service benchmark and regulatory requirements. (10%)

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Possess a degree qualification and having professional qualification; LOMA, ALU, ALUCA or CII will be desirable
  • 6-10 years’ experience in life insurance
  • Underwriting knowledge in a life insurance company
  • Problem solving and communication skills to effectively underwriting risks to underwriters and other touch points
