The Senior Project Engineer (Staff Level IV) will lead and oversee the entire project lifecycle, including:
- Identifying strategic R&I priorities and relevant EU funding opportunities
- Leading the coordination of proposal preparation and consortium building
- Overseeing the development of project agreements and contracting
- Driving project execution, including technical coordination, partner management, and reporting
You will collaborate closely with EPRI's global research teams, European members and stakeholders, and external project partners.

Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and assess relevant European R&I calls (e.g., Horizon Europe, MSCA, Clean Energy Transition Partnership) to identify opportunities aligned with EPRI's priorities.
- Lead the preparation and strategic alignment of project proposals, including technical content, work plans, budgets, and administrative sections.
- Manage and mentor internal and external stakeholders, including EPRI researchers, consortium partners, and consultants during proposal and project phases.
- Lead the negotiation and setup of grant agreements and consortium agreements.
- Oversee and ensure successful day-to-day project implementation, including scheduling, budgeting, deliverables, and reporting.
- Promote compliance with European Commission (EC) requirements and internal EPRI policies.
- Lead knowledge dissemination and strategic communication, including workshops and public reports.
- Represent and advocate for EPRI Europe in high-level project meetings and European stakeholder forums as required
Education And Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering, energy systems, or related fields.
- PhD is a strong plus, particularly in energy systems.
- Minimum 7 years of progressive experience with EU-funded R&I projects (e.g. Horizon Europe, Horizon 2020).
- Proven leadership in managing complex, multi-partner projects or large-scale proposals.
- Familiarity with the lifecycle of EC projects: from call screening and proposal writing to grant agreement, execution, and final reporting.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Understanding of the European R&I landscape and energy sector policy context.
- Exceptional leadership, strategic communication, and organizational skills.
- Fluency in English (both verbal and written); additional European languages are a plus.
- Ability to lead teams and work independently in a dynamic, international environment.
- Proficiency in MS Office and common project management tools.
