The Job:
As a compliance engineer, you’ll be part of our SAT team working as a hybrid employee.
You’ll get to:

  • Work with Product Development Engineers to obtain required certifications for new products. (primarily be CE and CSA, but other regional requirements may apply)
  • Obtain, manage and maintain third-party certifications (DEKRA, TUV Participate in cross functional compliance and safety reviews.
  • Review all technical construction file documentation and verify all applicable compliance requirements are met.
  • Maintain declaration of conformity documentation for all products and manage updates to authorized representative signatures.
  • Maintain compliance requirements for all technical documentation including updates to all user manuals as required.
  • Maintain product status summaries on risks to existing products and report to management periodically.
  • Participate in cross functional compliance and safety reviews

You also have:

  • 4-6 years of experience working with electro-mechanical products that require compliance management
  • Strong working knowledge of CE, ANSI, ISO, CSA and UL requirements.
  • Technical writing experience
  • Knowledge of regional compliance requirements such as NOM, PSE, KC, RCM and EQM
  • Familiarity with EMC, ESD, IP54 and noise and vibration compliance requirements
  • Familiarity with radio compliance requirements
  • Knowledge of mechanical design principles
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a cross-functional team environment
  • Project management skills with emphasis on meeting deadlines

Preferred:

  • Experience in design of complex mechanical / electrical systems
  • Experience in managing compliance requirements for electro-mechanical products
  • Experience writing technical manuals
  • Competencies (5-10 Critical Areas of Understanding/Practice for the role)
  • Regulatory compliance requirements
  • Knowledge of mechanical / electrical systems
  • Technical writing
  • Product development
  • Validation testing
