Position Overview:
The CNC Machinist will set up and operate a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments. This role includes working with precision instrument makers to fabricate, modify, or repair mechanical instruments. Responsibilities may also include fabricating and modifying parts used in the repair or maintenance of machine tools and industrial machinery.

Responsibilities Include:

• Operating Machines & Equipment: Safely and efficiently operate basic machines and equipment, performing routine production tasks with accuracy and care.
• Operational Processes: Complete daily operational tasks by following established procedures and best practices.
• Equipment Maintenance & Repair: Assist in maintaining and repairing machinery by preparing tools, materials, and offering hands-on support as needed.
• Health, Safety & Environmental Standards: Follow all required safety and environmental guidelines to protect yourself, your team, and the workplace.
• Quality & Compliance: Adhere to standard procedures to ensure high-quality work and compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
• Communication & Teamwork: Engage in courteous and effective communication with team members to support a positive and productive work environment.
• Policy & Procedure Understanding: Follow company policies and procedures with guidance, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and expectations.
• Additional Duties: Perform other related tasks as assigned to support the team and overall operations.

Required Experience:

• HS Diploma / GED and 3-5 years relevant experience
• Equipment Experience – 2+ years machining experience in a manufacturing or repair environment
• CNC lathes/mills and Setup experience
• Precision Equipment Utilization – Interpret and use precision measuring equipment/instruments such as micrometers, dial indicators, and depth gauges.
• Instructions and Drawings – Ability to read and interpret blueprints and geometric tolerances.
• Health and Safety - Applies elementary concepts to manage and apply safe systems of work.

Preferred Experience:

• Verbal Communication – Uses clear and effective verbal communication skills to express ideas and request actions.
• Planning and Organizing – Works with guidance to plan, organize, and prioritize activities to efficiently meet business objectives.
• Programming experience
