About The Team:

The FP&A group is currently seeking a Financial Analyst to support our Advertising and Membership teams.

About The Role

The successful candidate will help develop, communicate, and monitor departmental budgets and forecasts. You will also aid business partners in assessing the financial impact of their recommendations/decisions by regularly developing, analyzing, and presenting business case models. You will be based in our New York City office reporting to the Manager, FP&A.

You Will:

  • Work closely with business partners to review and prepare budgets and forecasts.
  • Create and maintain routine reporting of financial performance.
  • Create variance and trending analyses that monitor performance against budgets and forecasts.
  • Work on month-end close reporting and outlook.
  • Identify and address procedural problems/deficiencies impacting the integrity and timeliness of financial information.
  • Assist in KPI (key performance indicator) collection and reporting.
  • Handle additional ad-hoc requests as deemed necessary by the business or financial needs.
  • Work closely and collaborate with your other FP&A colleagues to share best practice as well as provide cover across the team.
  • Will be required to work on projects on an as-needed basis.

You Have:

  • 0-2 years of Finance experience.
  • Strong accounting and analytical skills; Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting preferred.
  • High degree of proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Can perform complex functions and competently manage, manipulate, and leverage large data sets.
  • A willingness to learn, and are self-motivated; working well under pressure and open to taking on new tasks. You ask questions and contribute in a timely manner.
  • Ability to recognize a problem, interpret data to draw valid conclusions, and proactively offer a solution when faced with a challenge.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a diverse group of business partners.
  • A strong work ethic and are a team player with an aptitude for numbers and mental math.
  • Planning and organizational skills.
  • Experience with financial applications and Google Suite. Knowledge of or experience with SAP or related programs is a plus.
