We are seeking a talented individual to join our OpenStack Platform Operations team at Marsh McLennan. This role can be based in Louisville KY; Urbandale, IA; Dallas, TX; Houston, TX; or Phoenix, AZ. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing, configuring, and maintaining Kubernetes clusters in a dynamic, high-availability environment, working closely with development, operations, and infrastructure teams to ensure the smooth deployment, scaling, and management of containerized applications.
We will count on you to:
- Install, configure, and maintain Kubernetes clusters (on-premises or cloud-based).
- Ensure the high availability, scalability, and reliability of Kubernetes environments.
- Perform upgrades and patch management for Kubernetes and its associated components.
- Manage and troubleshoot deployments using Helm charts, manifests, or other CI/CD tools.
- Monitor and optimize Kubernetes resources, such as pods, nodes, and namespaces.
- Implement and enforce Kubernetes security best practices, including RBAC, network policies, and secrets management.
- Provide technical guidance and support to developers and DevOps teams.
- Maintain detailed documentation of Kubernetes configurations and operational processes.
What You Need To Have:
- 3+ years of experience in managing Kubernetes clusters using tools such as kubectl, Helm, or Kustomize.
- In-depth knowledge of container technologies, including Docker.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and Kubernetes services (EKS, GKE, AKS).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
What Makes You Stand Out:
- Understanding of infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Experience with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python, or Go).
