Description -

The Director, Products & Services Privacy role leads the team responsible for global Privacy regulatory and compliance counseling and business guidance on issues related to the company’s portfolio of products, services, and solutions.  Reporting to the SVP and Deputy Counsel, Trust & Privacy, this role collaborates closely with the Technology and Innovation (TIO), Print, Personal Systems (PS), and HP Solutions Organizations.

Responsibilities

  • Leads the team of Privacy Advisors who provide compliance counseling and business guidance to the products, services, and solutions teams in TIO, Print, PS, and HP Solutions, as well as directly provides said counseling and guidance to assigned internal clients.
  • Serves on the HP Trust & Privacy Organization leadership team and is responsible for helping set and drive the strategic and operational imperatives in collaboration with peers and the SVP and Deputy Counsel, Trust & Privacy.
  • Collaborates with Privacy and Cybersecurity legal counsel, Privacy Innovation & Assurance team, and Privacy Strategy team to develop and drive a consistent, One HP approach to Privacy, Data Protection, and Digital Governance issues.
  • Creates strategic and tactical operations and resource plans, goals, and priorities for assigned team based on business and technology roadmap and functional objectives.
  • Manages headcount, deliverables, schedules, and costs for assigned team, ensuring that resources are appropriately allocated and that goals, objectives, timelines, and budgets are met in accordance with organizational metrics and business plans.
  • Engages with program managers, HR, marketing, supply chain, technical leaders and executives to communicate program status, escalate issues, and guide and influence strategic decision- making.
  • Manages senior relationships and escalated issues with outsourced partners and suppliers, including setting expectations regarding deliverables, product quality, schedules, and costs; ensures that organization is effectively leveraging outsourced resources.
  • Identifies opportunities for and drives organizational initiatives and programs to support business process improvements and cost reductions.
  • Provides incident and breach response support in collaboration with centralized Incident Response team.
  • Supports HP Government Affairs and Public Policy team with company advocacy positions on Privacy, Data Protection, and Digital Governance.

Education and Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Advanced degree (master or doctorate) preferred, with a focus in law, business, data science, information technology, or engineering
  • At least 8-10 years experience leading a global team of legal and compliance professionals at a multinational company; technology sector preferred

Knowledge And Skills

  • Deep domain expertise of global Privacy and Data Protection laws, regulations, and compliance frameworks
  • Extensive business acumen, technical knowledge, and industry experience in relation to Privacy, Data Protection, Digital Governance, and Artificial Intelligence
  • External thought leadership and recognized authority for Privacy, Data Protection, and Digital Governance
  • Strong leadership skills, including coaching, team-building, and conflict resolution
  • Organizational and strategic management skills, including budget and business planning and forecasting
  • Advanced communication skills catering to a wide variety of audiences. (e.g. written, verbal, presentation); mastery in English and local language
  • Advanced relationship management skills, including partnering and consulting with senior management and executive roles for internal and external clients/partners

The pay range for this role is $159,650 to $255,450 USD annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to United States of America candidates only). Pay varies by work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
