Position Description: The Associate Director, Consumer Marketing Strategist will enable the delivery of best-in-any-class launches and consumer experiences through a Consumer-First Go to Market strategy. The position is responsible for building consumer marketing capabilities of our Distribution and Promotion (D&P) Alliance partners to elevate integrated consumer-first marketing and Paid, Earned, Shared, Owned media (PESO) strategies, along with providing guidance to our alliance partners who in-turn will design integrated end-to-end consumer marketing plans to deliver and execute in their respective geographies. This individual will be partnering with the Global and IBU Central Marketing teams to understand the most effective and efficient Consumer media plan across therapy area with initial focus on Obesity; understand best practices and What Good Looks Like (WGLL) from Global team and do a knowledge transfer of these Disease State Education (DSE) campaigns to our alliance partners. S/He will need to build right governance processes to understand partner consumer markets plans and provide them guidance and consultation on successful execution of these plans. The position will disseminate knowledge and best practices from Lilly team across Alliances partners. The position will operate in an agile team concept designed to allow flexibility to execute the below job responsibilities across brands and geographies while potentially supporting other needs as business priorities shift.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent needs of IBU alliance markets and requests from D&P alliance partners request on these newer capabilities of consumer marketing and B2B play with Global/IBU central teams.
  • Partner with Lilly global marketing and IBU central teams to understand global DSE campaigns and WGLL for successful execution of these campaigns. Enable our D&P partners with these WGLL and best practices and cascade these learning.
  • Establish frameworks, structure, processes, and governance for working with Alliance partners. Put together governance process to monitor success of various DSE campaigns of our prioritized D&P partners – coach them on area of opportunity and provide guidance on their requests to ensure best-in-class launch of these DSE campaigns.
  • Build capabilities of our D&P partner to elevate integrated consumer-first marketing and PESO strategies.
  • Share best practices across Alliance partners and geographies.
  • Operate in an agile team concept to execute responsibilities across therapy areas.

Basic Requirements:

  • Relevant education and experience in consumer marketing.
  • Proven track record in designing and executing consumer marketing strategies.
  • Ability to work in an agile team environment and adapt to shifting business priorities.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Relevant bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum five years of consumer marketing and analytics experience 
  • Experience in leading different patient activation/consumer projects
  • Equivalent marketing/industry experience

Additional Preferences:

  • Previous experience leading or significantly participating in digital campaign development and media plan strategy and execution
  • Ability to be data-driven and think strategically and creatively
  • Strong communication skills and listening skills
  • Market research experience
  • Generate consumer insights from data analytics and market research 
  • Ability to use internal and external analysis to identify key areas of near and long-term opportunity for the brand
  • Demonstrate cross-functional leadership, influence without authority and collaboration
  • MBA is a plus
