Job Overview
The client presents a range of complex health and behavioral conditions that require specialized support. Key aspects of the client’s condition include:
Behavioral Challenges:
- Giving threats and intimidation.
- Non-compliant behaviors, such as resisting support.
- Physical aggression and self-harm.
- Verbal aggression.
Health Conditions:
- Diagnosed with schizophrenia, antisocial personality disorder, PTSD, hypertension, and hyperthyroidism.
- Suffers from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
- Experienced a right MCA occlusion (stroke) in 2022, leading to acquired brain injury and VRE.
- Has a history of epilepsy and stroke.
The role involves implementing trauma-informed care strategies, de-escalating challenging situations, promoting medication compliance, and ensuring the client’s safety and wellbeing through compassionate and professional support.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and motivate the client for mobility exercises.
- Support healthy meal preparation and ensure adherence to a balanced menu.
- Assist with medication compliance and household tasks.
- Maintain a consistent sleep schedule and encourage calming activities.
- Engage in meaningful conversations and build rapport.
- Promote daily personal hygiene and reinforce its importance.
- Monitor bowel health and ensure medication compliance for constipation.
- Maintain accurate records to ensure high standards of care.
About You

- Experienced Professional: At least 2 years of experience in NDIS or aged care.
- Therapeutic Mindset: Apply therapeutic techniques to address challenging behaviors effectively.
- Flexible and Reliable: Ready to adapt to various shifts and provide consistent care.
Essential Requirements
- Nationally accredited Certificate III in Disability or higher in Disability or Community Services.
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check and Employee Working with Children Check.
- Willingness to obtain a National Police Check.
- Valid Australian driver’s license with a reliable and comprehensively insured vehicle.
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate.
- Certification in Trauma-Informed Care (desirable).
- Must have high personal care experience and prior work in Aged Care.
- Must be willing to cover sleep shifts.

Shift Schedule
10-hour shifts, Monday to Friday (Weekdays)
Shift Assignment:
- Morning: 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM
- Afternoon/Night-Sleep: 6:00 PM – 10:00 AM
Pay Rate
Negotiable based on experience.
