This Role Provides Strategic Leadership For Facilities Management, Oversees Site Operations Personnel, And Manages Relationships With Senior Gsk Leaders And External Authoritiespartners. The Cluster Director Is Responsible For Business Continuity, Risk Management, And Compliance, Especially For Sites With Critical Business Functions Or High Security Risks. Key Duties Include Managing Contract Partners, Driving Operational Performance, Delivering Capital Projects, And Supporting Sustainability Initiatives. The Role Also Involves Coordinating Cross-Functional Teams, Integrating Services For A Cohesive Employee Experience, And Adapting To The Evolving Needs Of The Gsk Business.
Responsibilities
- Supervise strategy, standards, and relevant policy to site improvements (including minor works, infrastructure, business driven and energy projects). Partner with local assigned EHS lead to ensure workplace is managed and services are delivered in accordance with internal GSK policies, standards, procedures, alerts, and relevant external regulations with respect to Quality, Engineering, Statutory and Environmental Health & Safety requirements.
- Specifically, he/she is responsible to ensure the delivery of all WREF contract provisions and its ongoing development across a portfolio of sites or a “cluster” of sites.
- Setting the performance expectations and standards of WREF activities in the MEA Cluster. Ensuring measurement systems, mindset and behaviors are in place and in use that drive continuous improvement.
- Financial Governance: Accountable for the development of cluster capital and operating budgets and governance/delivery of same
- Ensuring all WREF activities and service partner staff in the ‘’cluster’’ operate in full compliance with the local statutory instruments and GSK regulations/policies.
- Team Leadership: Accountable for the development and delivery of a world class Real Estate and Facilities function within their cluster through performance management, indirect people development & talent management, organizational capability & culture development and change leadership. Work closely with key internal stakeholders (e.g., HR, Tech, procurement etc.) to ensure WREF’s services are integrated as a part of a joined up, cohesive approach to employee experience.
- Internal Customer Relationship Management: Primary point of contact for senior GSK Business Unit customers in Market i.e., VP, SVP, country and regional GM & FD levels of the company.
- Facilities/Workplace/Estate Planning: Ensure the development and delivery of the cluster and site service offering through business strategy alignment in the region. Gathering and understanding business occupancy and real estate needs, facilities infrastructure & workspace investment, the delivery of site upgrades, regional and local transport strategies, accessibility and sustainability programmes, business occupancy & real estate needs, space utilization analysis and the engagement of specialist consultants as required from time to time.
- Facilities Management Services: Accountability for the delivery of the regional operations strategy that aligns to and enables the overarching WREF strategy. Role holder is the controller of cluster delivery for all operational services: direct oversight and contract governance of local third-party supplier/partner delivery, risk & compliance management, crisis & continuity management, service benchmark & unit cost analysis & optimization, service standards implementation, as well as innovation, improvement and process simplification.
- Role will ensure fleet contract administration including identifying interface as appropriate with regional SME and operating as service partner points of contact to ensure appropriate service delivery in all applicable sites within cluster
Qualifications/Skills
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, or a related field.
- Commercial acumen – ability to manage OPEX & CAPEX budgets
- Strategic and learning agility
- Critical thinking and decision-making skills
- Expert communication (written and oral) and presentation skills
Influence Without Authority.
- Demonstrate extensive competence in the operational engineering field. Chartered Engineer status in a relevant discipline is preferred level of education. For Commercial facilities that are Landlord-owned, degree in business, or facilities related discipline is accepted. Safety qualification desired
- A strong background in directing facility operations or real estate services in an operational environment, with specialist knowledge in one or more areas (operations, real estate, fleet, capital projects)
- Broad understanding of all engineering disciplines as they apply to design, operation and maintenance of
- Commercial facilities in the areas of health, safety, environment and quality and how these are impacted by engineering.
- Ability to work on-site in Türkiye, with regional travel as required.
- Excellent interpersonal, presentational, and persuasive skills to successfully interact with managers at all levels with the ability to manage internal relations on a multi-site and international basis.
- Ability to establish high level strategic working relationships with key external contract partners to deliver a portfolio of contracts.
- Strong ability to act as a motivator of change. Ability to drive decisions and actions
- Comprehensive awareness of current political developments and emerging external issues.
- Strategic planning expertise, with a track record of delivering measurable results.
- Familiarity with regulatory environments across the Middle East, Africa, and Russia.
- Fluency in English; additional language skills relevant to the region are a plus.
