Here is a casual Disability Support Worker role based in a great Eastern Suburbs location.
About Nadrasca Community
Nadrasca Community comprises of Community Living, Outreach and Options i.e. Day Programmes responsible for maintaining an environment that encourages independence and empowers individuals to actively participate in their life.
There are currently three Day Programs which provide individual skill enhancement, prevocational training, and leisure and recreation activities.
The support provided by Nadrasca staff encourages participants to experience opportunities while networking within the broader community.
The Position
This is a casual on call position which will be responsible for covering sick and annual leave and periods where additional staffing is required.
The position may also be offered weekend and evening shifts to support participants engaging in programs and social activities.

- My Life My Future, which supports young people to transition successfully into adulthood.
- Nadrasca Farm, which offers a variety of practical activities in an outdoors environment that help people achieve their goals and build adaptability and resilience.
- Community Options, where we enrich peoples’ lives by encouraging social connections, friendship, personal growth, creative self-expression, and independent living skills.
Accountability
This position is accountable and reports to the Service Manager for the efficient, safe, and effective delivery of a range of tasks and supports.
- Ensure a person-centred active support approach and engage people in the planning of activities.
- Using My Pathway My Plan framework, work collaboratively with young people to identify goals, determine achievements that will build desired skills and actively work toward the attainment of goals.
- Maintaining compliance with incident reporting along with documentation in accordance with relevant legislation and Nadrasca Policies and Procedures including case notes, medication records, personal profiles, and reporting related to the people we support.
- Work in collaboration with the My Life My Future Co-Ordinator, to develop programs that build upon existing skills, interests, and expectations of young people.
This role should not be seen as limited to the duties or activities listed in this position description. As required, additional functions may be necessary at the manager’s request.

You Will Have:
Qualifications
- A Cert IV or above qualification in disability or community services is preferred but not mandatory.
- Current level 2 First Aid Certificate is required.
- Current drivers’ licence is preferred.
Experience And Expertise
- Relevant experience in providing support to people with disabilities, such as person-centred active support, individual skills development, behaviour support and personal care.
- Experience in disability employment, vocational education or training is essential.
- Sound knowledge of person-centred active support and person-centred planning.
- A genuine commitment to the rights of people with a disability to lead fulfilling lives and set and be supported to achieve goals that are meaningful to them.
- Ability to develop a project plan that defines objectives, goals, and activities to be achieved and documents the plan for their implementation and achievement.
- Ability to facilitate skill attainment to a small group of participants.
- Experience working specifically with young people will be highly regarded.
