Who are we looking for?

We’re looking for a passionate Health & Social Care Tutor to support learners in developing the skills, confidence, and knowledge they need to progress into work, further education, or training. You’ll provide 1:1 and group sessions, delivering engaging, tailored support that meets the needs of every learner.

Job Title: SEN Health & Social Care Tutor

Location: Basildon (Southgate)

Working Hours: 8.45 am to 5.30 pm, Monday to Thursday, 1/2-hour lunch unpaid, 8.45 am to 1.15 pm Friday, 37.5 hours per week. This contract can be term-time only if this is a requirement of yours (38 weeks plus 2 weeks).

• Salary Band: Unqualified £25,000 - £27,000, Qualified £28,000 – £30,000 per annum

What are we looking for?

Qualifications

• Qualified to PTLLS/AET or equivalent (essential)
• GCSE or equivalent in English and maths at grade C/4 or above (essential)
• Health & Social Care L3 plus (experience and qualifications are essential)
• Experience Supporting SEND/EHCP (essential)
• Qualified to DTLLS/Cert Ed/ PGCE or equivalent (desirable)
• Assessor qualification (desirable)

Main Tasks & Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging Entry Level and Level 1 retail and business sessions to individuals and groups
• Support learners to develop CVs, interview skills, job applications, and work-related skills
• Lesson planning, schemes of work, and Individual Student Plans (ISPs)
• Mark, assess and set targets for learners to develop knowledge and skills through their programme
• Monitor learner progress and provide feedback to learners, parents, and parents/professionals where appropriate
• Plan educational visits and work-related activities
• Follow and promote safeguarding, health & safety, confidentiality, and data protection policies
• Support and teach young people who have ASD, ADHD, Dyslexia, OCD, Tourette’s, and other neurodivergent needs and challenging behaviour.

Pre-Employment Checks

The company also conducts an internal online search on social media platforms in accordance with the Keeping Children Safe in Education guidance. Should any pertinent information arise from this search, it will be discussed with the applicant as part of the recruitment process.

Please note that upon a successful job offer, the company performs digitalised right-to-work checks and initiates DBS applications through an external service provider. An enhanced DBS check, including the barred list, is mandatory for this role.
