Job Title: Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Coordinator

Position Summary:
The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Coordinator assists the MHN Director of EHS in the development and implementation of programs and policies that safeguard the well-being of patients, staff, and visitors while ensuring compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations across all Marshall Health Network (MHN) facilities. The position includes responsibility for specific network sites including hospitals and ambulatory clinics and requires travel between multiple facilities in support of the EHS program.
Duties And Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement EHS programs and policies to minimize risks related to infection control, hazardous materials management, fire safety, emergency preparedness, and workplace injuries.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations including OSHA, EPA, and Joint Commission.
- Conduct risk assessments and hazard evaluations and implement control measures.
- Oversee waste management and pollution prevention programs.
- Lead and manage EHS audits and inspections.
- Investigate and report on incidents and accidents; develop and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Provide EHS training and development to employees.
- Collaborate with management to integrate EHS considerations into business operations.
- Manage the EHS budget and allocate resources efficiently.
- Establish quality measures for support programs, including development of key performance indicators under the five pillars: people, service, growth, quality, and finance.
- Participate in multiple committees including Environment of Care, Workplace Violence, Water Management, Emergency Management, Security & Safety.

Education:
- Required: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Occupational Health, Safety Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Preferred: Master’s degree in a related field.

Experience:
- Minimum of five years of experience in EHS.
- Practical experience in a healthcare environment required.

Certifications:
- Must possess or obtain within 12 months one of the following certifications:
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
- Certified Hospital Safety Professional (CHSP)
- Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH)
- Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM)
- Required: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Occupational Health, Safety Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Preferred: Master’s degree in a related field.
- Minimum of five years of experience in EHS.
