Position Purpose: Learn about various processes and functions within the Managed Care industry and develop professionally by contributing to projects that support the business.

  • Communicate project status and results to staff mentors and management

  • Research various legal, regulatory, and other topics within functional area and industry

About The Role

We are seeking a graduate-level intern with a strong foundation in data analytics, healthcare systems, and informatics to join our Quality & Process Improvement team. This internship offers a unique opportunity to apply advanced academic training to real-world challenges in healthcare performance, member engagement, and strategic quality initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze healthcare data to support enterprise-wide quality improvement initiatives, including Medicare Advantage Star Ratings and risk tier performance.
  • Contribute to the development of predictive models and case mix adjustment strategies to better understand member outcomes and care gaps.
  • Assist in building and refining dashboards and reporting tools using platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate complex data into actionable insights for operational and clinical stakeholders.
  • Conduct literature reviews and synthesize findings to inform strategic planning and process redesign.
  • Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership in a clear, compelling format.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a Master’s program in Data Science, Health Administration, Health Informatics, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Python, R, SQL) and visualization platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
  • Understanding of healthcare quality metrics, population health, and Medicare Advantage programs.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated initiative, intellectual curiosity, and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent undergraduate coursework completed. Must be enrolled in a graduate program at an accredited university or college in a field related to the hiring department through the internship period.

The salary range is: $21.00 - $35.00 per hour

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Actual pay will be adjusted based on an individual's skills, experience, degree program, degree level, number of years of participation in the internship program, and other job-related factors permitted by law

Actual pay will be adjusted based on an individual's skills, experience, education, and other job-related factors permitted by law, including full-time or part-time status.
