We’re hiring a Staff Accountant to partner with our client, a company that specializes in creating seamless event experiences through comprehensive packages that combine tickets, accommodations, and exclusive perks for major concerts, festivals, and sports events.

As a Staff Accountant, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of their financial data. From managing daily reconciliations to preparing month-end reports, your work will help the business make confident, data-driven decisions. This role is ideal for someone who loves structure, thrives on precision, and takes pride in keeping financial systems running smoothly.

Accountability

As a Staff Accountant,your success in this role will be defined by maintaining accuracy, timeliness, and clarity across all accounting functions while supporting the financial health of the business and reporting processes.

Here’s how you’ll make an impact:

Financial Operations & Reconciliation

  • Prepare and process all month-end journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Manage daily bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy across accounts.
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliation of fixed assets, accruals, and other general ledger accounts.
  • Research and resolve discrepancies or variances in accounting records.

Accounts Management

  • Oversee high-volume Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) workflows.
  • Manage the accounting inbox (Gmail), handling 100–200 transactions weekly.
  • Generate and maintain monthly reports and schedules for audit and compliance.

Reporting & Documentation

  • Assist in financial statement preparation and internal audit readiness.
  • Provide supporting documentation and analysis for reporting cycles.
  • Contribute to improving accounting workflows and accuracy over time.

Colleagues

You’ll work closely with our client’s finance team and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams.

Skills & Qualifications

At Oceans, we believe in T-shaped individuals - those who bring deep expertise in one area, paired with broad curiosity and interests. As a Staff Accountant, your vertical focus will be on accounting and financial operations, while your horizontal strengths should include systems management, reporting, and process optimization.

To excel in this role, you should have:

  • Experience: 2–3 years of hands-on experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or finance roles.
  • Accounting Systems: Strong proficiency with QuickBooks, Google Sheets, and Excel. Knowledge of using Ramp would be an added advantage.
  • Financial Operations: Ability to manage journal entries, reconciliations, AR/AP workflows, and month-end close processes.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong attention to detail, with the ability to identify discrepancies, solve problems, and ensure accuracy.
  • Communication: High standard for written and verbal communication, particularly in managing email workflows and reporting.
  • Process Management: Ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and maintain organization under high-volume workflows.

Bonus Skills:

  • Automation: Familiarity with email or inbox automation to streamline accounting processes.
  • US GAAP Knowledge: Understanding of U.S. accounting standards is a plus but not required.

Role Specifications

This is a remote role, where you will be expected to work a split shift with some overlap with our client’s time zone. You will, however, be expected to be present for in-person training programs during your first 90 days with us.
