AZ Operator, Industrial Services

GFL Environmental is looking for a AZ Truck Operator to join our liquids team out of our Napanee location. The driver will require a high level of motivation, professionalism, and customer service, which will be used to consistently build positive customer relationships and to promote GFL’s wide range of service offerings.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for daily pre and post trip inspections of trucks assigned
• Complete daily routes assigned by the scheduling TEAM
• Provide an exceptional on-site service to customers and continuously promote GFL’s service offerings
• Operate a tractor with box trailer / tanker, deliver products, and pick up commercial wastes such as oil filters, Plastics, drums of automotive fluids, as well as other related products.
• Operate other fleet units such as Power Vacs, Wet Vacs, Hydrovacs, Combos, Rolloff trucks, etc.
• Complete service paperwork in accordance with GFL and TDG regulations
• Ensure regular cleaning and maintenance of truck cab, components, and other assigned equipment
• Participate in GFL’s safety programs including safety meetings, last minute risk assessments, and job hazard assessments.

Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:

• AZ Driver’s License with a clean drivers abstract
• Ability to drive manual transmission (Required)
• Exceptional organizational abilities with task prioritization, multi-tasking, use of timelines and time management techniques
• Able to work independently
• Customer service experience

• Experience working in a safety sensitive environment
• Ability to work out of town and do potential overnights and weekends
• Must be flexible and dependable
• Strong work ethic
• Excellent attention to detail
• Ability to maintain a professional demeanor in difficult situations
• Overtime as required

• Manual dexterity, ability to lift 75+ lbs required
• Waste experience is considered an asset
