What you will do:
We are looking for an experienced Staff Software Engineer to join our Engineering team, supporting the ACV Capital group. Tough problems call for strong leaders who can shepherd both code and data through testing and into a production environment. A developer with a mission-critical mindset who can operate in multiple environments, independently, with skill and precision execution. This individual thoroughly understands the software development lifecycle and understands the automation tools needed to ensure the continuous integration and deployment of software systems.
The ACV Capital team is responsible for delivering innovative financial solutions through technology to our dealer partners. This is a growing line of business with a potential for significant impact. We seek acquire proven talent to leverage and build state-of-the-art solutions and maintain our competitive advantage in the marketplace.
We need a strong engineer that can design and build clean, well-organized / maintainable solutions to complex data and web problems, run and perform code reviews, and support solutions as needed. We are creating ground-up solutions to solve multi-domain multifarious problems and are seeking top-end talent for the diverse portfolio of projects at hand.

• Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
• Architect, deliver, and maintain four or more domains/products with many components and services.
• Collaborate with software and production engineers to design scalable services, plan feature roll-out, and ensure high reliability and performance of our products.
• Influences company wide engineering standards for tooling, languages, and build systems.
• Develop and implement 2-3 year lifecycle plans for all tools to ensure business risk and liability are accounted for.
• Contribute, influence, and set standards for all technical aspects of a product or service including but not limited to; testing, debugging, performance, languages. Implements engineering wide security standards and ensures security compliance for the business.
• Modify and develop custom software patterns as needed to solve the most complex software problems.
• Accountable for the overall performance of products and/or services within a defined area of focus.
• Conduct code reviews, develop high-quality documentation, and build robust test suites for your products.
• Lead team discussions to define requirements on new and current products.
• Respond to and troubleshoot the most complex problems quickly, efficiently, and effectively.
• Acts as a mentor or leader for less experienced engineers.
• Manages third-party consulting resources, as needed.
• Handle multiple competing priorities in an agile, fast-paced environment.
• Other duties as assigned

What you will need:
• 7+ years of experience writing, testing, and troubleshooting web, backend, data, and infrastructure applications and experience with Jenkins, Kubernetes, Docker, MySQL, Python, Service Oriented Architectures, and AWS (preferred).
• Strong data engineering skills, including analysis, data operations, and data stewardship.
• API development and management experience, focused on application integration.
• Exceptional interpersonal communication skills (written and verbal), attention to detail, extreme organization, problem-solving and time management skills.
• Self-directed learner and motivated to contribute to key components of the business.
• You possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant field OR have equivalent practical experience.
