LAB TECHNICIAN – Winter Haven FL

Polyglass USA, Inc., a premier roofing materials manufacturing company, has an opening for a Lab Technician at our Hazleton, PA plant.  Reporting to the Quality Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for sampling, testing, measuring, recording and analyzing production results.  We are looking for a detail-oriented individual with outstanding communication and organizational skills, and excellent computer skills.  Preference will be given to candidates with previous experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.

General Responsibilities:

• Perform various tests to produce reliable and precise data to support production standard.
• Ensure products conform to known company and customer standards.
• Ensure that routine tests are performed accurately and follow strict methodologies to carry out analyses.
• Keep accurate records of results and interpret results to Quality Coordinator.
• Ensure proper preparation of specimens and samples.
• Maintain a safe working environment; follow all safety rules and procedures.

Education And Experience:

• Previous experience in a lab environment is required.
• Previous experience with ISO 9001-2008 is desired.
• Experience creating SOP’s desired.
• Knowledge of WW software platform preferred.
• High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
• Previous experience in an industrial manufacturing environment preferred.
• Ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously.
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word.
• AS-400 or other enterprise-wide system experience is preferred.
