Full Time
Jefferies’ International Tax Department currently consists of 6 staff based in London and Frankfurt; with the Global Tax team of 25 tax professionals based in the United States. The International Tax Department is responsible for tax matters for Jefferies’ entities and branches in Europe and Asia Pacific, as well as providing support to the Global Tax team in New York on cross-border projects. The Head of International Tax reports to the International CEO and the Global Head of Tax.
The International Tax Department works collaboratively with the Global Tax Department, but also closely with other departments (e.g., Front Office business units, Finance, Legal, Regulatory Compliance, Treasury, Operations and Human Resources) and external stakeholders including HMRC, IRD, IRAS etc. and external auditors.
Role
This is a new role created in response to the expansion of the firm’s business. The Tax Associate will work with all members of the International Tax team on a range of tax matters.
Key Responsibilities
The key responsibilities would include working with other team members on a range of topics as follows:
- preparation of monthly, quarterly and year-end tax provisions;
- preparation of ETR calculations;
- prepare monthly current/deferred tax calculations and quarterly/annual reporting packages;
- reviewing tax computations and returns prepared by external advisors;
- assisting on new business initiatives; and
- assisting on projects

Person Specification
The following skills and experience are required being:
- developing technical skills and keen to develop further;
- ability to plan and prioritise work and meet deadlines;
- should have or working towards a professional qualification;
- experience with Alteryx and Power BI would be desirable but not required; and
- relevant FS sector experience considered an asset.
