We are seeking a qualified and dedicated Nephrologist to join our medical team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, treating, and managing patients with kidney-related disorders and diseases. This role involves providing high-quality clinical care, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and participating in patient education and preventive care programs. Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Patient Diagnosis & Treatment:
- Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with acute and chronic kidney diseases.
- Provide treatment for conditions such as glomerulonephritis, diabetic nephropathy, hypertensive nephrosclerosis, and electrolyte imbalances.
- Supervise and manage patients undergoing dialysis (hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis).
- Prescribe appropriate medications, dietary changes, and therapeutic interventions.
Clinical Care:
- Monitor patients with renal transplants and manage immunosuppressive therapies.
- Collaborate with other specialists, including cardiologists, endocrinologists, and surgeons, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Provide consultations to inpatients and outpatients with renal concerns.
- Assist in developing individualized care plans and ensure adherence to medical best practices and hospital protocols.
- Dialysis & Critical Care Management:
- Oversee the dialysis unit and ensure proper dialysis procedures are followed.
- Manage patients in critical care units suffering from acute kidney injury (AKI) and fluid-electrolyte disturbances.
- Perform and interpret diagnostic tests related to kidney function, including urinalysis, renal imaging, and renal biopsy (if trained).
Education & Research:
- Participate in departmental teaching programs for medical students, residents, and fellows.
- Stay updated with the latest developments in nephrology through continued medical education and research activities.
- Contribute to clinical audits, case discussions, and research initiatives in renal care.
- Patient Education & Communication:
- Counsel patients and families regarding kidney health, lifestyle modifications, and preventive measures.
- Communicate clearly and empathetically with patients to ensure understanding of diagnosis and treatment plans.
- Support awareness programs for early detection and prevention of kidney diseases.
Required Skills & Competencies
- In-depth knowledge of nephrology, renal physiology, and associated systemic disorders.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and managing acute and chronic renal failure.
- Expertise in dialysis management (hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis).
- Familiarity with renal transplantation protocols and post-transplant care.
- Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to ethical medical practice and patient-centric care.
Qualifications
- MBBS degree from a recognized institution.
- MD/DNB in General Medicine or Internal Medicine.
- DM/DNB in Nephrology (or equivalent recognized qualification).
- Valid medical registration/license to practice.
