This Practice Lead/Medical Assistant will provide a unique clinical and administrative opportunity at a state-of-the-art Advanced Primary Care and Wellness clinic located at the Sherwin Williams Corporate Headquarters in downtown Cleveland. This clinic will service Sherwin Williams employees working at the downtown location. The practice lead/Medical Assistant will support the intentional integration of lifestyle medicine modalities to treat and prevent disease. This role will work very closely with the Advanced Practice Provider, health coach as Employee Assistance Professional.
- The Practice Lead/Medical Assistant will be functioning in a clinical and administrative role, which includes all aspects of operational and clinical workflow. Ensures implementation of business policies and procedures for the daily operations of the office.
- Sets daily operational/patient priorities, evaluates daily workflow and assigns work. Ensures that duties are carried out according to UHMSO policy and procedures. Submits vacation requests for approval to Supervisor or Administrator. Notifies the Supervisor or Administrator of coverage requirements and escalates overtime needs to Supervisor or Administrator. Validates employee schedule time worked in Kronos.
- Orients and train new and current staff on office protocols and job responsibilities. Coaches staff to maximize patient throughput. Maintains documentation related to employee performance and communicates performance related issues to Supervisor/Administrator. Provides performance feedback of staff to Supervisor/Administrator for annual review.
- Promotes, builds and ensures positive customer relationships at all levels within the practice. Troubleshoots and resolves issues. Updates supervisor/administrator of significant activities.
- Assesses and resolves all third-party payors and patient billing issues using appropriate resources within the UHMSO. Delegates and prioritizes daily work activities of the billing staff.
- In collaboration with Senior Administrator order medical and office supplies based on business needs. Tracks, collects, and maintains data to maximize business efficiency.
- Work directly with the Advanced Practice Provider to establish exceptional care- including rooming patients, assessing vital signs, reviewing/reconciling medications, phlebotomy, electrocardiograms and vaccine administration.
· Collaborate with patients to provide team-based care, knowing and managing patients to improve patient health, resulting in reduced need for specialty care visits, hospital admissions, unnecessary emergency department visits, and urgent care visits.
· Provide acute, episodic care for SW employees with illnesses.
· Increase and enhance access to care in the clinic through same-day appointments, short wait times, greater length of appointment, telehealth services, and an integrated approach to referral services.
· Offer referrals to in-network Anthem providers, as needed, while promoting holistic primary care to reduce the need for referrals.
· Facilitates unit operations by managing patient flow. Responsible for all front desk duties specific to department, including scheduling patients, collecting and verifying patient payor information and other patient documentation.

Qualifications
Education
- High School Equivalent / GED (Required)
- Completion of a Medical Assistant Program (Required)
Work Experience
- 3+ years experience in related area of responsibility (Preferred)
- 3 years experience as a Medical Assistant
Licenses And Certifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) (Preferred)
