Nokia Subsea Professional Services Engineers are highly skilled individuals who have expert knowledge of all Nokia products and applications. These engineers provide the first point of contact for Nokia customers for all Subsea Services and Support activities. In addition, the Professional Services engineer Subsea work closely with Nokia partners, Service Delivery, TAC, Account team, Subsea Engineering and all other Nokia departments and directly with the customer to ensure that our customers receive World Class Nokia Support.

The position includes acting as a sales representative of technical services. The Professional Engineer have extensive knowledge about the technology and fusing their technical expertise with their services sales skills, Professional Engineer manage to sell various technical services to potential clients. The job description involves providing solutions to technical queries of clients, marketing the services, and attending customers meeting. Another facet of Professional Services Engineer is to work in tandem with Business Development to analyze the success of the services solution and eliminating solution gaps. Regular traveling and frequent meetings with customers is an integral part of a professional services engineer’s job duties.

  • Providing quotes for services
  • Working with partners to deliver services to Nokia customers
  • Assisting sales to convey the benefit of Nokia Professional Services
  • Proficient in all supported releases of Nokia products
  • Proficient in presenting a demonstration to customers of the Nokia Equipment
  • Provide technical assistance to Nokia customers from product trial through implementation
  • Manage operational aspects of customer trials and deployment including:

o Resolving customer-identified problems

o Representing Support in customer AIR meetings

o Generating Ops review reports and delivering Ops reviews to the customer

o Driving customer interests within Nokia

o Communicating to HQ

o Providing technical expertise to local account teams

  • Plan, manage and execute SOW/contract deliverables for Nokia Professional Services offerings
  • Assist in customer-specific test plan
  • Customer management of high visibility technical issues
  • Lead in technical meetings with customers
  • Type Approval Testing (TAT) for SW releases
  • Lab trials and field trials
  • Audit and present customer operations reviews
  • Providing onsite support during deployment to ensure customers easily integrate Nokia into their operations
  • Playing an active role in kick off meetings to ensure customers are covered for all aspects of Operations – Training, Service Logistics, TAC, etc
  • Writing of Method of Procedures (MOP) for technical activities

Experience with SLTE networks is mandatory

  • Strong technical background on optical long-haul DWDM/FlexGrid ROADM networks, idler/ASE usage and wet plants
  • Excellent communication skills, technical knowledge and services requirement identifications, in-depth knowledge of physical and logical network designs, teamwork, and organizational skills
  • Provide operations review and professional services solutions to customer. This includes using PowerPoint, white boarding and presentation of material
  • Superior technical competence in trouble-shooting real-time embedded software, optical and digital hardware, and network management systems
  • TCP/IP experience require with emphasis on the following protocol, OSPF, ISIS, RSVP, GMPLS, and P2P
  • Experience with Layer2 and 3
  • Strong technical background testing or supporting of the following:
  • NM/OSS software using XML, CORBA, TL-1 or SNMP

Qualifications

·       Bachelor Science Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a minimum of 7 years experience demonstrating success and growth while supporting or testing high-speed optical networking products for the service provider market
