Responsibilities

  • Teach in the relevant subject area according to the approved syllabus such as course no. 30050 (Training Specialist), course no. 30063  (Advanced Training Course), and Course no. 40107 (introduction to RSAF Training Organization), RSAF courses no. 20003 (Management Principles) and 20275 (Leader Ship Concepts) instructional system development and completion of ISD Course Writer no. (20251) and, RSAF curriculum specialist course no (30194).and any other support courses such as 20016 (RSAF Carrier development course 5 skill level), 20017(RSAF Carrier development course 7 skill level), 20018 (OJT Trainer Training Techniques).
  • Conduct regular assessments to ensure students are progressing academically.
  • Conduct phase-end examinations to ensure training objectives have been achieved.
  • Adopt and promote independent learning and a military ethos in line with the training environment.
  • Provide on-going evaluation of students discipline as part of their final assessment.
  • Counsel and motivate students, where applicable, on relevant academic and discipline issues.
  • Record students’ academic assessment results.
  • Record students’ lesson attendance.
  • Record any discipline issues with students.
  • Provide regular reports concerning student’s academic progress, lesson attendance and discipline.
  • Report any other relevant issues whenever required or deemed appropriate.
  • Regularly review the relevant subject area’s courseware.
  • Recommend changes to the relevant course material.
  • Review and recommend changes to assessment material in the relevant subject area.
  • Developing courses related to training and management programs.
  • Apply RSAF procedures for configuration control of curriculum and courseware, including preparing documentation and supporting data for curriculum or courseware change requests.
  • Integrate new training materials or equipment into the relevant course.
  • Ensure all training equipment is properly maintained and stored.
  • Contribute to preparation of timetables, scheduling and allocation of instructors.
  • Determinate requirements, requisitions, controls and accounts for tests and instructional materials used to evaluate training.
  • Ensures the availability of the Specialty Training Standards and other training materials.
  • Monitors progress of, counsel’s trainees and identifies problem area.
  • Determines causes and recommend corrective actions.
  • Assists in evaluations of training for effectiveness in meeting established objectives, Methods of presentations, Instructor ability.
  • Use of the available resources and reporting procedures.
  • Advise commanders and personnel in charge for all training programs.
  • Develops and manages training programs that assist personnel in achieving proficiency in their assigned specialties.
  • Plans and schedules work assignments, workloads, maintenance procedures, developing knowledge, and abilities essential to advancement to higher skill level or positions.
  • Prepares directives for administration and control of training programs.
  • Make periodic staff assistance visits to determine status of training programs, provide advice and guidance to improve programs.
  • Develops and implements organizational and functional charts to establish lines of authority and specific responsibilities.
  • Coordinates with supply, operations and other maintenance activities to improve procedures and resolve problems.

Job Requirements:

  • Must be a graduate of a Service or Civilian Technical Training Institute.
  • Must have successfully completed a formal Instructional Techniques Course.
  • Must have a diploma or degree in curriculum development and instructional methods.
  • Must be a skill level 9Training Specialist and Experienced in managing and supervising training programs.
  • Evaluate all kind and elements of training programs (academic and OJT).
  • Must be familiar with RSAF instructional system development and completion of ISD Course Writer no. (20251)
  • Completion of the mandatory training specialist course no (30050).
  • Completion of the RSAF curriculum specialist course no (30194).
  • Must have an understanding of RSAFMs 105-8,105-36,105-31,105-28,105-29,105-30B, 105-32,105-01, and other Operational training manuals and directives.
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years recent classroom experience as a Technical Instructor.
  • Must be confident and able to communicate effectively to all levels of staff.
  • Must be knowledgeable of the functions and responsibilities of the various classifications boards.
  • Must be knowledge of the functions of management.
  • Must be knowledgeable of interviewing and counselling techniques, training techniques and methods of instruction, learning process, and training evaluations automated training systems, products and training reporting procedures.
  • Must be knowledgeable of Training Evaluation Programs (such as SAV, 90 and 180 day and annual inspections/evaluations).
  • Must be knowledgeable of training management, OJT policies and procedures related to military personnel policies, procedures and applicable training technology.
  • Must have through knowledge of RSAF Instructions, Manuals, procedures and directives.
  • An understanding of the SHE process.
  • Computer literate, with a fully conversant working knowledge of Microsoft Office; especially Word and PowerPoint.
  • Maintaining the status of the training of the units OJT program.
  • Developing and updating tests.
  • Advising and assisting supervisors in developing and using master and individual (JPG's).
  • Designing and supervising all curriculum activities.
  • Preparing and maintaining control and security on all curriculum records, documents, files and related materials.
  • Determining prerequisite equipment and aids that will enhance instructional objectives.
  • Determining an appropriate instructional methods that serves for learning objectives.
