Head of Engineering

About The Role

Our client, an AI company building a collaborative workspace for biopharma's commercial and clinical teams, is seeking a Head of Engineering to join them at the founding executive level. This is a high-leverage role where you will be responsible for setting the technical vision, driving the product roadmap, and building a world-class engineering team and culture from the ground up.

You will be the "cross-functional glue," aligning engineering, product, and business goals to ensure both rapid short-term traction and long-term vision.

What You'Ll Do

• Define the Product & Technical Vision for their AI-powered workspace.
• Implement cutting-edge AI techniques (LLMs, agentic AI, RAG systems, vector DBs) and align resources for prioritization and execution.
• Lead execution and set a culture of engineering excellence, writing and reviewing code across the full stack.
• Drive best practices in architecture, testing, and DevOps, serving as the gold standard for code quality.
• Own the cloud-native infrastructure (Kubernetes/EKS, ECS, SQS, VPC networking, etc.).
• Recruit and lead an A+ engineering team, mentoring existing members and fostering a culture of direct feedback and continuous improvement.
• Represent the company externally, engaging with customers, partners, and investors to articulate the technical edge and product strategy.

Requirements

• 6-15 years of experience as an engineering leader with a strong technical background.
• Proven experience managing an early-stage team.
• Deep technical fluency across the required stack and in modern AI paradigms.

Benefits

• Salary: $200K - $250K
• Equity: 0.5% - 5% (Generous)
• Visa sponsorship is available for H1B transfers and TN visas.
