The Opportunity

The Senior Officer – Finance is responsible for supporting financial management in line with SCI policies and procedures and for helping to establish and maintain effective financial systems that provide maximum support to programme and management teams in the Cox’s Bazar Area Office. The role will coordinate with relevant departments on implementation planning and will review compiled budgets for Foreign Donations and ratio calculations in consultation with the respective programme managers. The postholder will also support proposal development and the preparation of financial reports, the master budget, and gap analyses.

Qualifications And Experience

  • At least 5 years’ experience in Finance, including 3 years in a Senior Officer position.
  • Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Experience working in a large-scale emergency finance context.
  • Experience of working in an INGO.
  • Knowledge of donor requirements and experience managing grants from major emergency donors, including budgeting, eligibility, compliance, and reporting.
  • Experience in coaching and capacity building of staff.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Proficient in digital tools and office software (e.g., Word, advanced Excel, Outlook, internet browsers, financial systems).
  • Cultural awareness and the ability to build relationships quickly with a wide variety of people.
  • Patient, adaptable, and flexible; able to improvise, remain responsive, and communicate clearly and effectively under pressure.
  • Excellent planning, management, and coordination skills, with the ability to organise a demanding workload comprising diverse and challenging tasks and responsibilities.
  • Strong written and spoken communication skills and interpersonal skills in English, with experience managing multicultural teams.
