As a Financial Analysis Associate within the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team, you will lead and coordinate the budgeting and forecasting process, including short- and long-term projections of earnings and capital over varying economic scenarios. You will collaborate closely with firmwide groups in each line of business to prepare management reports and presentations for the Operating Committee and the Board of Directors. This role provides an opportunity to serve as a liaison between Firm-wide P&A, lines of business, Functional Finance teams, and other support teams to deliver impactful reporting, planning, and insightful analyses.
Job Responsibilities:
- Liaise between Firm-wide P&A, lines of business, Functional Finance teams, and other support teams to provide impactful reporting, planning, and insightful analyses.
- Accurately align costs incurred while providing internal services to intended beneficiaries through indirect expense allocation, transfer pricing, and costing.
- Create annual budgets, conduct periodic forecasting, and analyze variances to the plan.
- Establish budget, forecast, and actuals for all centers in accordance with various corporate methodologies.
- Perform ad hoc analysis of the business and its drivers; identify opportunities for improvement and recommend actions across the business, audit, and tax teams.
- Produce presentations, analysis, and supporting materials for key internal clients, including senior management; participate in and support ad hoc special projects and requests as needed.
- Develop, consolidate, and present insightful and robust qualitative and quantitative financial analysis, including annual budgets and quarterly/monthly forecast variances.
- Create, maintain, and review financial models and analyses, both recurring and ad hoc.
- Conduct deep-dive analyses on key issues impacting clients to determine root causes and propose solutions.
- Collaborate with business partners across P&A, lines of business, and the firm to ensure timely, accurate, and effective delivery of recurring and ad hoc initiatives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key business stakeholders, including firm-wide, Functional Finance, and lines of business teams.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Self-starter who is able to work in a fast paced, results driven environment
- Working knowledge of Alteryx and tableau along with expertise on Excel, PowerPoint, Essbase and macros
- Ability to comprehend and clearly communicate complex concepts and maintain composure in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Team oriented, inquisitive, critical thinker who anticipates questions from internal clients and senior management
- Ability to build strong partnerships with colleagues, desire to learn quickly, be flexible and think strategically
- Excellent organizational, management, and both verbal and written communication skills
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Post Graduate in Finance, Economics, Accounting (CA, CPA, MBA a plus)
- 8+ years of work experience, preferably in Financial Services, and/or accounting/controller background
- Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem solving skills
- Ability to navigate multiple data sets and synthesize into cohesive presentation and recommendations
- Detail oriented with the ability to work well under pressure, handling multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously
