Python Expert

We are seeking a skilled Python Expert to join our Software Engineering Team at SCOR. Part of the Chief Architect team, the candidate will audit Python usage within SCOR, advise and deploy governance around Python libraries, manage technical debt, and provide level 3 support to developers and citizen Developers (business developing applications). 

• Audit Python usage within SCOR.
• Write and maintain Python Tech Principles, blueprint, patterns and guidelines.
• Advise and deploy governance around Python tools and libraries.
• Overview and control technical debt related to Python projects.
• Enhance and maintain the Python tools environment.
• Provide level 3 support to developers around Python (debug complex problems on IT projects related to Python)
• 10 years experience in Python development and governance.
• Strong understanding of Python libraries and tools.
• Experience in technical debt management.
• Proficiency in providing high-level support to development teams.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to challenge existing models.
• Knowledge of best practices in Python development and deployment.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools (e.g., Jenkins).
• Experience with cloud platforms (preferably Azure)

Nice To Have:

• Knowledge on R and migration to Python.
• Knowledge of other programming languages and frameworks.
• Experience in the financial and insurance industry.
• Experience with Mathematicians / actuary population.

Required Education

• Degree/Diploma in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
