Senior Software Engineer, Mobile (iOS), Google Cast

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience with software development in Objective-C.
• 3 years of experience working with mobile (iOS) systems.
• 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products.
• 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
• 5 years of experience with data structures/algorithms.
• 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role.
• Experience developing accessible technologies.

In this role, you will build the future of cross-device media and Cast, enabling seamless playback across any screen or speaker in homes, hotels, cars, gyms, and planes through innovative connectivity technologies (BLE, UWB, p2p wifi, NFC) while enhancing features with AI-driven device suggestions, social/shared media experiences, and companion screen capabilities for TV watching.

The Platforms and Devices team encompasses Google's various computing software platforms across environments (desktop, mobile, applications), as well as our first party devices and services that combine the best of Google AI, software, and hardware. Teams across this area research, design, and develop new technologies to make our user's interaction with computing faster and more seamless, building innovative experiences for our users around the world.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $166,000-$244,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

• Develop new features end-to-end in Cast iOS.
• Expand the range of discovery and connectivity technologies to enable Cast away from home.
• Build new security mechanisms and pairing UX for these use cases.
• Modernize the Software Development Kit (SDK's) use of Apple technologies and frameworks.
• Mentor and review work of team members.
