Role Summary

The Oncology Engagement Network Lead is a National customer-facing role (~70%) responsible for the strategic leadership of our Oncology Key Opinion Leader (KOL) customer strategy in the UK. You will lead on the identification, engagement and development of relationships with a sub-set of established and emerging UK Oncology Key Opinion Leaders in close liaison with the field and head office commercial teams.

You will be responsible for creating a network of KOLs in order to leverage these relationships to gather strategic insights, drive brand awareness and uptake, support product launches and deliver specific business initiatives. The role will take a lead on the development & operational delivery of KOL activities such as National & Regional education initiatives utilizing KOL experts, working with commercial and medical colleagues.

Role Responsibilities

External Commercial Leadership
• Identifying and Profiling KOLs: Locating and assessing the expertise and influence of healthcare professionals within specific tumour areas.
• Develop a sub-set (network) of established & emerging UK Oncology KOLs to work with a to achieve business objectives.
• Building and Maintaining Relationships: Fostering strong, long-term relationships with KOLs through regular engagement. Create opportunities for this KOL network to share best practice
• Leading the execution of National Speaker Meeting Programs, working with expert KOLs to educate UK HCPs. Lead on oversight of identification of third-party meetings aligned to our strategic objectives & the development of selection criteria for HCP attendance
• Maintain high level of disease and brand knowledge to effectively promote new products and data to UK KOL experts when required in liaison with field CFC team
• Alignment and close working with the relevant field commercial TAS & HPM teams to ensure sequential customer engagement with National KOLs

• Strategic Insights; Acquire and develop key customer insights that can be used to develop key strategic and tactical plans and decisions
• Attend relevant National/International Congress; to build own knowledge and to gather insights to further develop KOL relationships and execute the commercial customer strategy. Attend Global meetings at Congress where appropriate
• Deliver Performance with Integrity; Operate with a strong commitment and adherence to all applicable Pfizer policies, and external regulations including the ABPI Code of Practice

Internal Strategic Leadership & XFW
• Collaborating with Internal Teams: Working closely with marketing, field commercial, medical, compliance, legal, ICO, Global Brand Teams and other departments to ensure alignment and consistency in KOL engagement.
• Franchise Leadership Team (FLT) member and Field Commercial Directorate Leadership Team (FCDLT) member attending meetings and actively contributing to priorities to maximize business outcomes and growth
• KOL Subject Matter Expert; As a KOL Engagement Expert, advise the Franchise Leadership Team on the strategy & resources required to accelerate KOL engagement, shaping marketing messages, channel use and patient support
• Support co-creation of marketing channel material & resources with marketing & medical colleagues
• Brand Launches; Lead the identification and development of field commercial launch experiments and pilots to accelerate launch growth through KOLs
• Tracking and Measuring Results: Monitoring the aggregated impact of KOL activities on brand awareness, sales, and other key performance indicators in line with required compliance framework
• Apply active surveillance on competitor landscape and review Pfizer activities with vendors and collaborators to enhance mutual value and success of future UK KOL activities

Training & Development
• Advise on capabilities required to upskill the field commercial team on the engagement, development and mobilisation of KOLs to have appropriate, impactful, meaningful conversations with our customers and collaborate with both the Medical and PLA Teams to deliver the training in house and/or with external partners

Experience/Skills/Knowledge

  • Experience: Previous experience in pharmaceutical sales, marketing, or medical affairs, with a proven track record of KOL management.
  • Relationship Building: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with KOLs.
  • Business Acumen & Strategic Thinking: strong working knowledge of NHS, UK healthcare system & experience of strategic & tactical plan development, execution & evaluation
  • Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
  • Influencing Skills & experience of Leading without Authority
  • Excellent selling & negotiation skills and ability to deliver compelling commercial propositions• Compliance Awareness: Knowledge of relevant regulations and ABPI Code requirements for pharmaceutical promotion.• University Degree and / or equivalent• ABPI qualification• Driving Licence
  • PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Previous experience in Oncology
  • NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS
  • Some overnight travel may be required
  • Digital & Field based working arrangement
